I second that

This scenario will not become a reality.

I'd give Roy another year especially as this summer is due to be a further round of the squad rebuild with all of the out of contract players leaving. It would help to have a settled coaching team for new players to slot into.

We definitely don't seem to be close with any other managers and the last thing we want is another summer chasing managers then getting rejected Nuno, Favre etc. Not to mention Roy and the team has us playing some fine stuff with the squad seemingly very happy.

Yesterday I overheard a plethora of conversations apropos the situation regarding Mr Hodgson. The common opinion was that he has clearly not been offered a new contract and if the club wanted him to continue there would have been an offer on the table by now.

I did not interject and involve myself in the discussions.

I fail to see how the fact that Roy staying on hasn’t been announced means that he won’t be.
It hasn’t been announced that Ward is staying yet, but does anybody seriously think he won’t be with us next season?
With Roy it could simply be that both he and the club decided to purely focus on finishing the season first before embarking on discussions post season.
Doesn’t sound too unreasonable.
Of course it’s possible that we could have somebody lined up that’s being kept secret for the moment, but I can’t see it.
As another poster pointed out , Roy seems to be the least risk option.
He is getting a positive response from the players, knows how the club operates and has established a harmonious coaching set up.
He’s not long term, but what’s long term in football these days?

On MOTD last night Roy says he hasn’t been approached about remaining in charge for another season. Maybe the club are looking for someone else.

What we don’t want to happen would be the scenario where the club can’t find a suitable candidate then think oh well we can always keep Roy. With that attitude Roy is more than likely to say if that’s what you think, then up yours, I’m off.

Let's see estimed Willo. As others have said, SP might have decided to wait until the last match is played, then discuss when the pressure is off? On the other hand, I would have thought they'd want to make a firm decision pdq, so they could get transfer plans in place? Or perhaps SP wanted the opportunity to see whether Cooper was interested, and could have had a word with him after the match?

Why would Cooper want to come to us? Forest are a decent sized club and he’s setting something going there

Couldn't agree more PJ. If not Roy, then Mr Parish needs to move quickly on a new appointment or we'll find ourselves playing catch-up during the pre season.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

No please, thank Roy for what he has done, but it is time to move forward.

Could never understand why Roy chose Edouard ahead of Matetta.
