If Roy wants the job, and is fit enough , and the club know he is fit enough, to cope with all the obvious pressures involved then why not.
The club just doesn’t appear to be set up yet for all of the added pressures that could come from being consistent in the top ten, in short we don’t appear to be able to afford it yet, This has to be a factor in who wants our job, and a factor in anyone looking at it as anything other than a stepping stone, the point being maintaining top ten on our budget even if gained is not likely.
Roy , is as capable as anyone of maintaining us as competitive for at least another season, that’s another year for the board to make progress of their own. Even after that the problem of getting someone happy to work successfully with our limitations will remain. Time may change this situation, the right kind of investment might happen and all our dreams come true, but for the moment a fit Roy is plenty good enough.

Here here. Let's see how are under 21 team does next Tuesday. I think a lot of them will be stars at Palace in a couple of years

He hasn't done as well as i anticipated only 2 starts, 9 off the bench, and a goal, i still think he will come good, only 23, was injured for the Palace game.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

Football managers join the dole queue for a reason.

I've got no problem with Roy doing the job next year if he wants to. See how it goes. The days of a genius manager transforming a club over the long term are long gone anyway.

If Hodgson does stay then I can't imagine too many people expect the good form and open football we've enjoyed since April to be continued into next season. If Parish is swayed by that then he is the equivalent of a guy who wakes up in bed with someone he met last night, had a great time with, and then decides to propose to. In this case that someone is his ex, with whom he had a long, stable, but ultimately joyless relationship that he ended for a reason.

Still, we've all done it.

Lie down on the couch TBTP, and start at the beginning.

I admire your optimism, but I suspect most will end up plying their trade lower down the ranks. If we get one into the first team I would surprised, but we live in hope.
