Where is the evidence? She said she didn't have any and the National Crime Agency didn't find any either.

Read what she wrote and what the Judge said.

60% cost award and an acceptance that on the narrow interpretation of particular words what was said in one particular place at one particular time, wasn’t true. A technical victory which didn’t touch anything else said, done or written elsewhere.

This was an opportunist grab by Banks to whitewash himself, and his associates, in the eyes of their support base.

The underlying accusations remain intact and unchallenged. You won’t though hear that in the right wing press.

That's a Black Knight level of success. Trumplike levels of denial.

Exactly she told the court she had no proof and apologised to him but apparently that doesn't count as a victory.

As for technicalities it was her lawyers who tried to claim that her allegations about Banks and Russia weren't really allegations and shouldn't be taken at face value .

The judge ruled that any reasonable member of the public would have construed that the meaning of her words was quite clear.

Trump just denies every accusation. She doesn’t.

On legal advice she accepted that by the narrow interpretation of a particular term she had made a mistake, withdrew that allegation and apologised. Thus leaving the substantive allegations untouched and unchallenged.

Who emerged victorious depends on your opinion of Banks. Those who see him as a hero and honourable even if his methods were legally questionable think he won. Those, like me, who think he, Farage and their whole campaign, were a bunch of unscrupulous opportunists who were underhandedly funded by foreign interests who laundered the money via cut outs, don’t.

The judge said other things too. If you haven’t read the transcript the link is earlier in the thread. You could also read this:-

That'll be a huge comfort to her as she hands over £1.3m of crowd funded money.

I don't know the size of her legal bills, whether the crowd funding covered it, or what would happen to any surplus.

Nevertheless that she was able to raise a lot of money speaks volumes for the way that some felt about her efforts. I guess you didn't contribute though.

No more than I would have if the result had gone the other way.
I've got better things to spend my money on and all of them are in a glass at the pub.
