Apparently the tram was at the end of the tunnel between Lloyd Park and Sandilands, I assume driver error. I am guessing going too fast in the wet and slippery conditions. Injured taken to St Mildred's in Bingham Road. I fear there will have been deaths. East Croydon is locked down.

apparently it derailed in the tunnel, which made things more complicated regarding access and getting people out. I did get the lowdown this morning but it was just after I woke up - I think 6 seriously injured and others less so.

Two carriage tram overturned at sandilands. 60 people trapped and some being brought out on stretchers. That's according to the bbc news article I read online

I hope not. Latest report (17 mins ago) says 2 still trapped and 50 hurt 4 seriously. Some newspaper reports of "fatalities" but they are three/ four hours old and probably posted just after it happened. Edited by Henry of Peckham (09 Nov 2016 10.59am)
