Anyone who uses LOL is a congenital idiot. You are just pushing yourself in a corner, my lad.

That's a lot of idiots.

"Desperate attempt to get a reaction"? Really?

I thought you'd gone to bed. I think you should. You're obviously tired.

Be honest Matthew, you could start an argument in an empty room.

Deal with it.

In my view trains and trams must have safety as their priority over profit.

I would not want to travel in a train without a trained guard and driver unfortunately safety issues are not a priority in my view and an accident involving hundreds of people could happen any time.

As for people letting themselves on and off the train....

I would return Southern to public ownership Virgin are always going back to the govt. for more money they are leeches.

My Dad used that line for 20 years he never missed a day off work travelling to London and back.

Perhaps the gentleman would like to press a button and meet a train coming the other way.

Have you NEVER travelled on the tube then?

The door opening and closing is operated by the driver on his own pressing a button.

Shock news for you steeleye... it's been this way for decades without any problems or safety issues.

Your last sentence has nothing to do with opening or closing doors. That is to do with train signals on the line.... explain how an extra "guard" on the train would prevent two trains colliding?

Heaven forbid that he should ever travel on the DLR - that doesn't even have a driver!

I'm sure that southern have said guards would be used in other roles on the train. If the unions were only worried about people keeping their jobs, they would be OK with it. But it is a health and safety issue which is why action is being taken.

To the usual suspects have come out with their anti union guff, I suggest they carry one of these...
