And not being able to buy French produce is good for us as a consumer how exactly? So what you're saying is the chaos, uncertainty and blockades that would ensue would hurt France's economy so that's a reason to celebrate? More Insular, backward thinking. The rest of world must laugh at us

If they had done so before the referendum it would not have cost them. Having worked at the HO in the 70's and 80's we were issuing EU (or EC/EEA) residency cards. If we do actually break free of the EU (although now highly doubtful unless we storm parliament) we will be in a more competitive world but with more ***opportunity***. This just underlines the fact that our EU friends will clearly want to come to the table following any tangible form of Brexit (you nutter). Who's the negative one here?

Mrs May has just announced she is scrapping the £65 registration fee hopefully that will placate the EU citizens living here. As expected her plan B is to negotiate on the Irish back stop. She doesn't need Labour support she just needs to convince her own party and maybe a few rebels from the Labour side. Of course short term thinking! If In 2 months we're about to crash out of the EU and no one has any idea what direction we will take, we have to sort out that mess before taking the next step.
