If they paid a decent rate for accounts with credit balances I would be OK with Muslims not paying for their overdraft as they cannot earn interest. Swings and roundabouts.

Unfortunately at the moment they don't pay me any interest and do charge me for an overdraft so this seems a little unfair in that I will be subsidizing them.

The way Islamic banking works is this.

If you are a saver the bank will invest your savings in an investment product and pay you a share of the profits.

If you have a current account the bank will charge you for services they provide.

In both cases they pay you money or charge you. I have read some articles that suggest that some of these schemes are a good investment.

Lloyds of course is neither one or the other its just free banking for Muslims.
