Just trying to put my finger on what's going wrong...the midfield is stagnant. No zip. No bite. No energy. And while he's far from the most gifted footballer, at least Kouyate gallops around with some passion.

Centre midfeld is where all our problems start week in and out, we get overrun overly week. For the rest of the season I would go back to 4-5-1 and shore up the middle of the park. Just play it safe and pick up the points to stay up.

If we go with Wilf and Eze wide the future is bright. Townsend has to be dropped now. Another feeble performance and please don’t give me the usual “puts in a shift” nonsense. Cahill can warm the bench too. Woeful tonight but as usual everyone will let him off. Our best 11 is: Guiata; Clyne, Tomkins, Sakho, Mitchell; Eze, Jairo, Jimmy, Wilf; Ayew, Benteke.
Tonight’s ratings: Guiata 6: Ward 6, Kouyate 6, Cahill 4, Mitchell 5; Townsend 3, Luka 5, Jimmy 6, Eze 6; Benteke 6, Wilf 6.

Cahill now in his mid 30s is a shadow of the player who graced the PL.
Guaita awful for the first 2 goals and arguably could have come for the cross which led to the last goal but he is a 'Line' goalkeeper who doesn't command his box.
In actual fact I could list a number of players who were a huge disappointment tonight.

We had about five players who were totally anonymous. Kouyate was like a ghost in defence, Townsend as useful as a shadow and Benteke like a plank. Mitchell young so I can forgive him. Luka and McArthur never put down their Ovaltine or got up off of the couch. I don't blame Guaita but would give him a week or two off and try Butland. We have nothing to lose from trying a few - yet we just won't will we. Not even a question.

Ok we lost at home again, a few weeks ago we out played West Ham only for the ref to turn the game on its head. They are on a roll and we aren’t, it’s as simple as that!

I still want Roy to see this season out and we start afresh next season. It ain’t pretty I know at the moment and Christ we need something to lift us, but losing Roy now is not an alternative...

No way would I give anyone a 6.

Roy has had my backing for the most part but enough is enough now... the gradual rot has been there for a while, particularly since lockdown...time for a change. I’ve stopped watching some of the games because we’re so dull.

In a word,diabolical.
We are fortunate to have a points cushion and believe we can stay up by the skin of our teeth by virtue of three other poor sides who will prove to be even more hopeless than ourselves.
Clearly,we have no hope or future under Roy and his retirement cannot come soon enough.

Roy will see it as positive effort by the team in keeping to a 1 goal margin.

Surely SP knows it’s time to act now.

All we can do is lick our wounds make sure we dust ourselves for the next game and do to Wolves what West Ham did to us tonight."

I’d suggest Roy that what we could do is look at how to actually change something for a positive effect rather than banging out the same 11 and same tactics.

Appreciate press conferences are bollocks - but he doesn’t help himself.

Agreed Jacey.
We’ve got a good platform but we’re on the slide and last season shows us how it can go. We’re losing anyway so what’s to lose in changing now.

Perhaps, just perhaps, in the "Cold light of day", those that have been very critical of Mr Hodgson straight after a defeat might just change their views.

Wasnt even aware that we were playing at 6pm, thats how much Roys football has taken away my interest......players on massive wages 70,80 100k a week who dont give a sh*t. Players like Wickham and Benteke stealing a living (150k a week between them, neither could care less as long as the money turns up in their account every week.....Roy has to go NOW, before we get relegated!!
