I love this club but the notion that we have the best fans in the country is one of the most delusional suggestions to have cropped up in the years since we came up. There’s a reason we’ve got the nickname "Nigels" and the ultras epitomise it. They threw a big hissy fit and threatened to boycott games because they couldn’t get seats behind the goal and demanded lifelong season ticket holders move because.. meh.. they have a drum. Now they’re writing letters to the board whilst we’re 10 points off the relegation spots and 5 points off the top half.

It seems to be a new phenomenon but our fans are beyond spoilt at the moment. I want to see Palace push on as much as anyone else. But the current period of consistently establishing our premier league status is vital in that. Roy Hodgson has done a very good job, whilst feeding off scraps & bringing through 2 academy players and has got on with all of it without any complaints or betrayal. He doesn’t deserve this bulls***. We are not even the best fans in the league, let alone the country.

Does it not show that we have a fan base that care about the club and do not want to be served s**t every week?

No. It shows we have a bunch of spoilt brats who throw their toys out of the pram because we’re not a European standard team yet. Whatever your views on Parish, he cares deeply about the club and is not sabotaging our progress to earn a quick buck. Whatever your views on Roy, he’s one of our most successful managers in history. The ultras can do one, it was endearing in the championship and first few seasons since we were up. But now it’s just pathetic and infantile.

Sorry, don't recall too much of their flag waving on a cold Tuesday night in the Championship in the Holloway play off season !!

Funny, because they were there. They were founded in 2005. Hence the HF05. Admittedly they were smaller then, but I guess our attendances were smaller too. I'm not a HF so don't particularly care, but I realise there are a lot of fans who don't like them.

A massive, unecessary, and embarrassing action by a bunch of self- entitled whingers.

I stand by my comments and I believe I have batted away the accusations with the casual confidence of a top-order batsman.

You’re wrong Willo, to say ‘what has shaken supporters are the last two games’ is embarrassingly naive and quite honestly bizarre, especially given what has been posted on this very forum in recent months. I’ve seen Jimmy Anderson play the short stuff with more ability and composure than your lame attempts

He has not done a very good job, would hardly call inheriting the most expensive squad we have ever assembled as feeding off scraps. He had done the minimum expected and kept us in the prem, nothing more and nothing less and that is not a gaurentee for this season.

Jeez, get off yer high horse. You’ll be telling us next your the best supporter in the club and anyone who opposes your views know nothing

I don’t like the Ultras, I don’t like what they did about the seats. However, I will acknowledge they are massively passionate about the club and see problems that they believe need resolving. That is neither entitlement, nor is it pathetic and infantile. The fact that a lot of fans are willing to wait until we totally fall of the edge of a cliff before deciding that something needs to be done are the ones who need to give a bit more thought to our future direction in my opinion.

No. Actually. He’s done a very good job. If it wasn’t for Roy Hodgson, we would’ve gone down a very long time ago. Last season our first choice right back was Joel Ward. Our best centre half is 35 years old and can barely run. He’s played without a serious centre forward ever since his arrival. He brought through arguably the best one on one full back in Europe now. During his first couple of seasons we played good attacking football at times too.

As for "our most expensive squad in history". What’s your point? That’s largely down to Big Sam spending big bucks on firefighter signings and he still knew the squad was nowhere near the required standard to consistently stay up - that’s why he walked.

You and many on here are spoilt. I know you don’t wanna hear it but you are. And I’m more than happy to criticise managers when it’s warranted. Pardew deserved to go, for example. But not Roy, he has done a very good job on very little resources and the guy does not deserve this hysterical and infantile nonsense.

Clearly in your view the 'Content' can be described as what a Pamplona street cleaner collects after the bull run.

The smorgasbord of opinions is all part of the rich tapestry of HOL.

Eh? You "don’t like the ultras" so what is your beef, exactly? Making demands that lifelong fans move seats because you’re an "uLtWa" is entitled. Demanding the club does something about a manager who has us 5 points off the top half and 10 points off the drop is pathetic. As I said, the Ultras was actually quite great to begin with. I used to sit in block B in the championship days so I know. But nowadays it’s all just childish and tragic - and they deserve every bit of stick they get for the way they carry on.
