Here we go again.

Steve Parish at his best once again. Will he ever learn?

New managers being announced left right and centre and we are still bumbling around like a bunch of amateurs.

How does parish manage to offer a job to a bloke who doesn’t actually want it. Favre would not have gone through the interviews unless he was up for it so clearly the terms, the deal, or the people he met here turned him off.

Now we are scrambling around with not long to go to preseason, and half the team leaving.

Absolute schoolboy for life Steve parish is, he will never, ever learn how to properly execute a managerial search.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

I mentioned elsewhere that the team would self-manage until the first sacking of the season.

When I wrote that I had no idea just how close to reality it would be.

I reckon, if we change our name to "Pant Wetters United", or "Drama Rovers", we'll be much better placed to attract a manager.

Just my tuppence....

You appear to be one of the people who would say “oh you pant wetters” if selhurst burned down, the entire team with it, and all that was left was sainsburys and the under 21s.

It’s not being dramatic to point out that we should have easily hired a manager by now and we are yet again ballsing up a managerial search like a bunch of schoolboys.

Worst post I've read for a long time. So many assumptions.

Er, seems to be I am stating facts, sprites.

We have no manager.

We take way too long to hire managers then bring in the likes of FDB. We clearly haven’t learnt anything due to past failures.

First we got Nuno in for talks and he pulled out, why? If a manger sits down for talks it means he is up for it, unless we balls it up with silly demands or poor offers.

Who interviews for a job they don’t want? Something we did turned Favre off. Do you go out job hunting and go to interviews when you don’t want the job?

With so many players leaving we really need to get this sorted out.

It was announced publicly that Roy would leave the club on May 18th, 5 weeks ago.

What concerns me is that there is obviously something we are doing wrong in the final stages of negotiations that baffles me.
Some people have mentioned its the ageing squad, the fact we have very little transfer budget for the season with a pretty big overhaul needed.
But..for me..
To get so far in negotiations twice recently and for it to break down at the final hurdle, Im a bit more sceptical than that.
The managers surely would have been aware of the situation we are in prior too (who doesnt do due dilligence for this sort of role before application?) or at least at the very start of first contact and talks with the club if they are unfamiliar.
I cant in my mind (I may be wrong) put it down to the squad or funds if we are in the latter stages of negotiations as these would surely have been covered and agreed during.
Maybe salary? But if cooper was a prospect the 5 mill compensation to Swansea puts me off that idea.
But still there have been players that we seem too miss out in the final stages too.
Something is surely turning people away no?
I fear we will maybe not get someone in the ilk of Fuavre now after this. Or maybe at all.
Maybe we are just becoming that club where we are only attractive too someone like Cooper who want to try themselves.

Surely it has to be an issue with the board negotiation tactics/demands?
You may say we are just not an attractive choice for people atm but I say again who doesnt do due dilligence prior?

Haha, that's very bloody different mate.
"Do you get approached by multimillion pound companies asking you to work for them?" would be a more accurate question.

New managers being announced left right and centre. Like who? I haven't heard many. Do Spurs/Everton have managers now?

We're still bumbling around like a bunch of amateurs.
Are we? Says who? Has someone who actually knows what they're talking about stated as such?

How does parish manage to offer a job to a bloke who doesn’t actually want it. Favre would not have gone through the interviews unless he was up for it . Really? It's not as black and white as 'I want it or I don't'. Just last week I went to an interview I wasn't 100% on. How else do we find out more? Silly comment.

So clearly the terms, the deal, or the people he met here turned him off. Not clear at all.

Now we are scrambling around with not long to go to preseason, and half the team leaving.
Are they? Says who? Out of contract doesn't necessarily mean leaving.

Absolute schoolboy for life Steve parish is, he will never, ever learn how to properly execute a managerial search.

Just my opinion mate nothing personal. Just think the hate being throw Steve's way is uncalled for until we k now what's happened for sure.

This is a bitter blow on Favre especially as we've been down this road with Nuno a couple of weeks ago... Literally 11th hour pull out AGAIN!!!

I'm still hoping that this is untrue because as much as I see multiple sources suggesting favre to Palace is off, those exact same sources were saying literally 24hrs ago it was a done deal. Can't pick and choose what story to believe here...

But assuming back to square 1, where do you think we go from here with days away from contract expiries looming for 30th June on a string of players?

Ismael has gone to West Brom, Lampard clearly does not want it.
You've then got Nuno although I'm hearing Spurs are now talking with him (but either way we were unlikely to revisit this).

So what's the new shortlist?

Sean Dyche: name is always in the mix for years but didn't hear anything on him interviewing so I'd be surprised on his appointment. We'd also have to pay comp

Eddie Howe: similar to dyche in links although I heard he did interview but didn't perform well. Nevertheless has Prem experience and available now with no comps.. Just not everybody's cup of tea

Steve Cooper: heard he interviewed and would probably jump at the chance to take the role although apparently board are 50:50 on him. Also comp is there and rumoured at £3m which was off-putting

Marco Silva: only heard his name prop up in the past week or so. This guy has had 3 Prem jobs and IMHO he hasn't really been successful at any of them (Hull, Watford, Everton). I'd sooner instead go English/British with Howe or an untested Cooper at Prem level, as I don't understand what Marco would genuinely bring

Paulo Fonseca: in the very early days (pre Hodgson departure announcement), he was loosely linked to us. Since then he has apparently interviewed for spurs gig - I honestly thought it would have been a done deal so don't know general specifics for the breakdown. I would definitely be interested in him as he can work on a budget but realistically, I seem to recall him saying after departing Roma that his preference was to stay in Italy so think spurs link was exceptional circumstances due to the new ex-Juve guy now on the scenes

Wildcards (not really been linked at All)
John Terry, Dougie Freedman, Sam Allardyce, Rudi Garcia, Albert Celades, Željko Buvac, Edin Terzic, Chris Wilder

Whoever it is, we can't afford another slip up... Let's get someone in who knows how to deliver on limited funds, can see either untapped youthful talent or a good value deal and is tactically astute to deal with the perils that come with premier league football... Objective 1 21/22 is to keep us up "comfortably"
