I suspect SP agrees with you. These names are just managers who may be available and the media suggesting they’re in the frame. The only 2 we know about for sure are Nuno and Favre. That suggests he wants someone who will play a more attacking game with greater possession and the ability to integrate younger players from the academy.

I can’t see SP panicking and appointing anyone just for the sake of it. If necessary he’ll ask DF to cover until he finds the right person. He has stated he wants the next manager to build for the future using the academy. Don’t be surprised if there’s an announcement that DF is taking temporary charge.

Dougie as caretaker until Favre decides he’s ready?

Since we got promoted all our managers have had to turn things around in a short space of time.
Each one has had a different way of wanting to play. So we have lost our identity, now it seems that we are going to have to go for another manager who will be just to put out fires rather than have a longer term plan.
If the shortlist is to be believed then how can you have Dyche and Lampard and everyone in between on the list when their methods are chalk and cheese.
Surely we should have a way of playing and choose a manger that fits that way so that we dont end up with players in the squad getting paid vast amounts of money and using up squad places that are not in the current managers plans.

Can't see him joining as Burnley have been busy in the transfer market this week :

A caretaker manager would in my opinion be a catastrophic move. Not only would it hinder any recruitment of players it would also unsettle what few players we have and just kick the can down the road again. Have we learnt nothing from the current debacle caused by delay and indecision?

Do we really think that a team in the bottom 3 or 4 in December is going to be a more attractive proposition to anybody ?

Collins signed for £12 Million + add-ons.
I have seen him at Stoke, playing both in a back three and at right-back.

This could be shaping up like the season that Pulis jumped ship at the 11th hour. Anybody fancy Warnock until Xmas and then Pards ?

Nel Warnock has signed a contract extension at Middlesbrough until the end of the coming season.

They have made 1 signing thus far in the close season, goalkeeper Joe Lumley on a Free from QPR.

Alan Pardew is Technical Director at CSKA Sofia. They finished 3rd in the league last season.

We need a Manager with Premiership experience.

Err...what about Allerdyce then? Given the lifeline that Parish gave him that worked out well for us at the time, why not go back to him again?

Allardyce is a short term expensive option for a club trying to avoid relegation. The only loyalty he shows is to his bank manager. Appointing him is an admission that we are in the mire. We are not ... not yet at least.
We cant keep thinking short term ... a manager to rescue us, expensive journeyman players in the twilight of their careers on big money contracts to save us. We need a manager and some young players to stick around and try and build something. Cooper looks like the best option to me so far.

bit selective there methinks - he did well at Watford till the cup final. Flores Sanchez, Mazzarri and Jokanovic all did OK for a year ... there's a manager out there somewhere.
