Once upon a time, leftists and victim mentality merchants used to dismiss these kinds of stories as tabloid nonsense, but now, we can see where appeasing and excusing away nuttery gets us. Landlord decides not to sell certain products. People have a choice whether to spend their money with him or not. It is nice and simple. My only real issue with regard to this is that those on the Left who defend this decision do not seem to hold the same values when it comes to people offering services for money that they don't like. But we on the Right are superior to them and should not stoop to their level. This Landlord should be able to sell whatever brand of booze he likes. Along with refusing service to anybody he dislikes. This is the point of 'free enterprise'.

It's certainly true that when the 'gay cake' situation occurred there was a distinct lack of these libertarian arguments being made on the left. Society use to be that by default but in reality there have been limitations put onto businesses for many decades now. It was one of those arguments that I was conflicted on for years, back when 'equality' arguments had some cultural sense for me, but now I see those arguments for what they are and since I've become more socially conservative I'm now fully against those restrictions. A fantastic example. But the Left are just hypocrites. Utter scum who want to control peoples lives. We are much, much, much better than they are. Good luck to this Landlord. If he does not want to sell Babycham because it just encourages homosexuals to use the premises or clear his shelves of Guinness because of the Irish who drink it, the best of British to him. His business, his rules. And he can either sink or swim dependent on them. I salute his decision.

Do you feel the same way when someone like this landlord Is bullied or coerced into a decision by woke nutters? Because it seems to me that most of the motivation to take such action comes out of the fear of bad publicity and not personal ideals.

During the recent BLM demonstrations in the UK Anthony Joshua (the boxer, to those who don't know) spoke at one of them and said that people should support 'black businesses'. He didn't get any criticism in the press for this apparent identity politics. We know what would have happened if a white boxer had said something similar for 'white businesses'. The funny thing is that I thought that a business wasn't allowed to actually be a 'white' or 'black' business.....but it's certainly true that some businesses will be attacked (for example religious shops) for ideological reasons while others (black dating sites) won't be. Here's an example of a UK black dating site. You won't find a UK white dating site that's accepted...I found one but it's focused on Europe and has been banned on Youtube and Google. I'm of the view that all should be allowed.
