Wonder if Textor ever played as a striker?

Breaking | The DNCG - French football's financial watchdog - moves to sanction Lyon for the 2023/24 season due to financial irregularities in the budget presented by John Textor. The DNCG will prevent wage bill inflation & be able to block transfer incomings this season.

This will disappoint John Textor, who at the 11th hour attempted to move Eagle Football's share capital in Crystal Palace, Molenbeek and Botafogo into the Lyon holding company, OL Groupe, to boost its asset base by €300m. DNCG felt this was insufficient. Full story follows.

If true this smacks of Robert Maxwell using shares from one company to prop out his other companies, a Ponzi scheme.

Also, no wonder there seems to have been a sharp disagreement between him and Parish.

Sounds like Textor might be spreading himself a bit thin!

UEFA seems to be clamping down on dual owners having influence in more than one European club, transfers between dual owned clubs, etc….
Which may change things for Textor and Palace

He's in trouble at all of his clubs. I hope it's not affecting us.

And like the Glazers, borrowing against his assets, shyster?

OMG. Not good news for us. Thankfully he has still only got a minority stake with us, but it does not bode well for our short term player funding.

Can't believe Harris and Blitzer are too impressed, and we already know SP's view.

What's going on at Textures south american club Botafago? Last I heard, the players were not being paid.

Very messy.

Its an American business model that has seen the rape of European football clubs . I said it at the time and will say it again , getting Americans on board will only end in tears .

Multi millionaires who are investors are not investing for the benefit of the club they are investing to get a return on their money . That of course could go hand in hand with success on the field but you can gaurentee its not something thats factored into the plan .

And we still need a striker

I would want to draw a distinction between Textor on the one hand and Harris and Blitzer on the other.

I see the latter two as typical American investors. They are looking to see their investment grow in value. At the right time they will look to take their profits and reinvest elsewhere. In the meantime, they will put just enough money into the club to try and keep it in the PL. Any success on the field would be a nice bonus.

Textor on the other hand appears to have overstretched himself building his sport empire with a lot of debt (i.e. other peoples' money). I suspect he may have overpaid for his investment in our club and possibly for Lyon. He seems desperate for quick success. He worries me. Just my opinion. I don't have facts and figures.
