Why would you agree terms with 3 clubs?

Why do they say Wilf has agreed terms with 3 clubs, now he has to decide?

Does it mean that his agent has had 3 acceptable contract offers in?

As previously mentioned in 4 years he'll still only be 34 so can still go after the oil money then. Provided of course they haven't lost interest and starting importing lacrosse players or crown green bowlers.

I always find it baffling that people still criticize the players for earning money. The club offered the man a salary to play for them, he accepted that contract and then gave us probably the best 5 years of his career in the process.

It's not Wilf's fault that he was offered that money by the club, they paid him what they felt was his value. Same as we were quoting other interested clubs £80m to buy him, that was his value to us.

I also wouldn't say he is holding us to ransom - the club can walk away from the deal too if they feel it's not right for them. If they allow Wilf to "hold us to ransom" then that's not Wilf's fault, that's down to poor management of the club.

For what it's worth, I don't think we will replace Wilf simply because we just can't. Therefore, we may see a new system in place from Roy and co that may not need a direct Wilf replacement. I wouldn't panic about that, I'm sure they know what they're doing alot better than anyone on this website or in the stands
