A year ago today we beat a good wolves side 2-0 away from home, the first was genuinely the best I’ve seen us play away from home , I’ve just looked at the lineup and it was this Guaita Schlupp Olise We also were able to bring on benteke in second half to see it out hold the ball up. What’s changed ? Obviously Gallagher however, kouyate thinking back was such a strong prescense in that midfield and allowed the forward players freedom as he done slot of dirty work , also very versatile I remember he done good job at centre back under Roy. Ayew playing every game cost us 2 points against Brentford still plays because he runs around like a headless chicken. 1 goal and 1 assist, you can bet PV will pick him before jimmy mac next game.

Good question Lanzo. I think we needed two central midfielders and one more forward. Also think ideally we needed them last summer. Another left back would have been great as well.

Yes you’re right. There is so much money washing around that financially we just can’t compete with many of the teams. The academy won’t produce players for probably at least 3-4 years and we’ll do well to get one for the first team every 2 years. It’s not going to be s factory producing oven ready premier league players. If this is the route we are going we perhaps have to accept the fact we will be relegated in the next couple of seasons and stick with Vieira and let the club build on a possession based game from the youngest team all the way through. It’s interesting that we want Premier League football at all costs, but we if we can’t compete financially then how are we meant to on the pitch. Bringing in a manager to play attrition football won’t move us forward long term. Sam Allardyce and Roy also got relegated in their last jobs and Dyche was taking Burnley down. Yes he would have. Why we didn’t replace Benteke is beyond me as well. We have 2 strikers!! Two pretty poor ones as well. Their are massive holes in the squad. Any manager is going to struggle with the squad we have. Lack of options, old players and injury prone players. Originally posted by Lanzo-Ad
Pukki would have been a decent shout 32, end of contract, 18 months at 25k a week, worth a gamble, probably about 1m

Perhaps nobody wishes to look at what you have been waving! You have been consistent in your messaging apropos Vieira and you are clinging on to such sentiments as a Maltese terrier will refuse to surrender its Bonio. Its just so obvious to me he is hopeless in all aspects of being a manager, i take no pleasure from our pathetic performances, but it is becoming hard to watch the lack of commitment, i have a sponge tennis ball i through at the screen, in the bar, or at home, when Vieira comes on screen, my psychiatrist recommended it.

Agree with this. I very much doubt Kouyate would be a difference-maker, He is 33 and IIRC, was not a regular starter for us after the African Nations last year. He has played 12 times for Forest in the league in which they have won just two (both 1-0) and had a -17 Goal difference. Of course, one of the two was against us. Zaha missed penalty, I believe

If we are losing and Olise, Ayew and Eze aren’t working. Who do we bring on from the bench. All our attacking youngsters are out on loan and most sat on the bench (Ebiowei, Plange,). We don’t have the tools. Is Vieira faultless. No. Is he totally to blame. No. He will be the scapegoat and get the sack as the fans want change. But really we should be protesting about the lack of first team investment. Others have gone forward, we have gone backwards. Let's look at this from another angle. Why do these 3 have to start? One works hard to little effect desite his experience, another is beyond lazy, style over substance, and another, has the potential but currently is on a learning curve. Between them they contribute very little as our lack of goal attempts illustrates. Add Zaha into the mix and the set is complete. Edited by southnorwoodhill (05 Mar 2023 10.42am)

When results are dire, the manager 'Carries the can' despite there often being extenuating circumstances. When I analyse our squad, we have 2 full backs in Ward and Clyne with a combined age of 64, a left-back who has not progressed at all and appears to have regressed and there being no natural cover in that position.None of our full-backs provide an attacking threat, thereby giving our team a different dimension. In midfield, Milivojevic and Riedewald are clearly not the answer and McArthur is 35 and has only just returned from injury.Eze is a 'Luxury player' who is talented but flatters to deceive and his work out of possession has been criticised. Our recognised strikers are Mateta, Ayew and Edouard, the less said about their goal records the better. In terms of Eduoard, it was reported that thee were issues with his work rate when he was at Celtic.Plange was bought but has hardly played for Lincoln this season and the same applies to Ebiowei at Hull. Of course the manager faces shot and shell when results are abject and I suppose one could pose the questions : 1. Is he getting the best out of the squad ? I suspect as far as the supporters are concerned the answers would be : 1 - NO, 2 - NO, 3 - YES. Edited by Willo (05 Mar 2023 11.19am)

Who could we realistically get in as a manger to improve us. Hassenhuttle perhaps? Originally posted by Willo
