in answer to the phone call question moose, i honestly don't know.

And after all the years and all the heartache, and the fact I'm happily married with a kid, I don't know either.

So you'd consider it even though you have a wife Moose?

I think that sense can go out of the window sometimes but I would definitely stay with the wife. But it just goes to show how people can get under your skin and never quite leave you be. I know someone who's hooked up with an ex recently and they split up about 10 years ago. It must be the comfort zone or rose-tinted specs.

Reading this makes me realise how lucky I've been in my love life. Most of my relationships (not that there have been that many) I have been the one doing the dumping, hence no real heartbreak.

One girl I was seeing at Uni for 3 weeks dumped me for a mate, using the excuse that she went out with me for my looks, and him for his personality (flattered and insulted at the same time, since he had the personality of a frozen pea). It wasn't much of a loss though, cos she wasn't that good looking and was a complete control freak (worse than me) - pinned Nick into proposing by the end of the year.

The only other time was also at Uni when I was seeing this girl, pretty much just for sex, and I found out she was shagging someone else at the same time. No real heartbreak, because there was no emotional tie, but I did miss the sex for a while. Then I met my wife, and the rest is history!

that's very honest of you moose. it is so easy to say no of course they are forgotten and history blah blah, but i dont think you can really say for sure when you have been so into someone, emotions and feelings are bizarre things. i wish i could say no for defo but i know i cant say no for defo! annoying, but true. sometimes you just dont know what is best for you, although it's not unheard of for things to work out a second time if you have both learned and grown from the 1st time. my relationship didn't finish because of infidelity or anything like that which makes it harder to deal with in a funny kind of way - there's no massive anger, it's just really, really sad.

I still hate my ex after what she did (even after nearly 2 years) and don't have any feelings any more, so in no way whatsoever would I ever go back with her.
I just hope the same thing happens to her someday. Petty, I know, but I want her to know how it feels. I'm not a nasty person and I am good friends with my other ex's but she crossed the line in my mind.

It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

I don't know if anybody else feels the same, but, without meaning to sound cheesy, I really could tell you guys anything. Maybe its because I don't know you. Then again, I am a very upfront, open person. Another thing that came from being cheated on.

Aww it's mighty nice of you to say that, Jim. Just don't forget who to write the cheques to when you win the lottery!

I dont really think ive had much heartbreak in my life but i went on holiday to Crete in summer of 2001 with my mate john & his parents. Basically hes a bit of a lively one who can be a complete b****** and can be ok and im quite shy and conservative but im ok (i like to think so). Basically throughout the 2 weeks we were there i tried desperately to pull and i did actually succeed - 6 times - however.. everytime i pulled john hadnt so he decided that it would be easier to go after the bird i was giving one to. Which was nice. I didnt get even close to 5 birds even though i met them, chatted them up etc, they all told me to f*** off and went off with him. So one night about 3 days before the end of the holiday i got really pissed off with him and stormed out and basically went out on my own. I ended up going to this bar that we had been going to all holiday and as i walked in there was a group of girls sitting there one of whom recognised me as John's mate from the previous night (where i got horrendously drunk, started dancing on the bar and ended up falling through it...) and i sat down with them. I remember looking around at them seeing which one i should try and pull and saw this one girl sitting opposite me who i looked at and thought "no, never. Ive got fook all chance with her" Yeah, basically i went to the bar, was on my way back and suddenly she gets up and starts kissing me. We ended up on the beach and have been together ever since.....

It was just that feeling before i went out that night where i felt completely not wanted. Like every girl was just using me to get to my mate.

I'm still young. So mine is weak.

16. Loved this Irish bird. She was stunning, had it all. I can't emphasise this enough, even though alot of you are older than she is/was, you'd still do a double take on her. Fit as. Anywho I'm not the 'attached' type, but I was head over arse about this girl. I got to know her, she got to know me. Eventually we got closer and closer.

One night we were out at a party, she drank one too many and was extremely ill. I spent the night with her (not what you think) and looked after her. And I'll tell you, it was quite a task. THe next day she came up to me, gave me the biggest hug and a peck on the cheek. I thought here we go, I'm on to a winner. Couple of weeks later we were mucking around (quite good mates then, tough to remember now as we aren't on the best of terms). She said something to the effect of 'you're great Jack', I replied and 'yeah, but you dont love me'. We were going out to another party (both were friends birthdays). So she goes why not talk to me about it tonight, all the while rubbing her leg up against mine.

Skip to the end, we went out, and when I went looking for her to try and seal the deal... I found her snoggin this stoner, a right sleazy b******. They were an item for a few weeks broke up. But I got well jealous, and was a complete arse to her for the last 2 years. We don't see each other now.

Like I say, weak story in comparison, but you asked for my worst. Thanks to her leading me on, I don't see myself looking for a girlfriend for quite a while, and a friendship with this lass I really enjoyed was ruined.

Ah well.

When you read this thread it makes you realise how common affairs are, there seems to be so much infedelity going on. Thats why I prefer to be single cos then you don't have to worry that girls are going to cheat on you. These days I just do occassional one night stand with a female friend and that satisfies us both, don't have to worry about emotion. Not sure if I would want to get married and bring up kids into this world what with all the sick stories you hear. Good luck to everyone on here who is married or who has a long term relationship I am certainly not knocking it. At the end of the day its up to the individual. Look forward to meeting lots of you on the 28th.

Most of the women in my life have broken my heart. Apparently I'm too 'nice'. If someone can enliten me on that one, I'd be grateful.

I think that it's to do with trying to protect people's feelings, so telling someone they're too nice is along the same lines as "it's not you it's me". I think they're both often reasons given where there isn't really a reason.

Not that I'm an expert on the subject - never had to dump anyone, as I've been going out with my fiance since we were 15 and in year 11 at school.
