A meaningless vote.

No deal Brexit will eventually happen unless we have a deal no matter what.

Yeah, non binding.....still interesting how close that is in a majority remainer parliament.

Such a close vote tonight, should we not have another vote because the mps will be a bit older and might change their mind?

I'm not so sure. It's not even legally binding, then again nor was the referendum. Plus no deal is the default unless they go crawling to the EU for an extension or withdraw article 50. The latter is surely unlikely?

The great irony may be that the government will dither so much that the EU may be hesitant to offer an extension anyway, which will result in the government either having to going with no deal or withdraw article 50. The alternative is that they all agree on 'something' and then that is once again ratified with the EU.

What a mess.

The house of parliament is politically incoherent.

Votes to leave the EU, which is now statue law.
Doesn't want May's deal.
Doesn't want no deal.

Seems it wants to shut its eyes and cover its ears.

One could certainly ask what they are faffing about for considering

Quote Conservative Jacob Rees-Mogg seeks confirmation that "a motion of this House cannot overrule statute law."

Speaker John Bercow confirms this is correct.

He adds that if MPs want to ensure a motion's "ultimate success" further steps are required.

So with the clock counting down, I'll assuming we'll have an eventful few days ahead. Stock up on the popcorn.

"EU Commission spokesperson: “There are only two ways to leave the EU: with or without a deal. The EU is prepared for both. To take no deal off the table, it is not enough to vote against no deal you have to agree to a deal. We have agreed a deal with the Prime Minister and the EU is ready to sign it.”

Project remain enters its final phase.
1) Rule out No deal. Tick.
2) Vote to extend A50. Coming Thursday.
3) EU agrees on the basis of 2nd referendum, probably happen next week.
4) Second referendum, this crap "deal" or remain
5) Remain.

Points 4 or 5 might be replaced just with an indefinite extension to A50, suits them and keeps the sword dangling over us.

We're going nowhere. Deal or No deal is a construct of remain anyway and when they extend A50 we are never, ever leaving.

As no deal is going off the table it'll boil down to this deal (remain) or remain.

I'm inclined to think that going with May's deal, crap or not, would or would've been the best way of getting out then going from there. There's a lot of betting against this happening or that happening in parliament for as many reasons are there are permutations of Brexit, and it might all end up back at square one unless they can be something vaguely resembling an agreement.

Cheap

Think that’s already happened with Theresa’s deal. Might even happen a third time.
