Good post I don't understand why some people think we should believe company directors just because they blame Brexit. Yet those same directors probably complained when the minimum wage was introduced. We should all keep a healthy scepticism regardless if we are Brexit or Remain.

You are comparing today with a time that...and this is a massive point didn't have a welfare state....didn't have technology which assisted poorer people, didn't have healthcare, didn't have an education which helped them find employment, a time where the age expectancy for the poor was way way lower. You are talking of times where a person who turned to crime would...in some cases....be out of necessity to live. If you could talk about these comparisons and factor these points in.....yeah, these societies were more ordered and they were certainly more socially cohesive.

The 'when it doesn't affect me' I'm a socialist....but when it affects me....suddenly I'm a centralist. It's endemic on the left.......If Corbyn comes to power and we get real socialism.....We will see a hell of a lot of his support base turn from cheer leaders to suddenly critics who will hide the fact that they ever supported him....or somehow claim that they couldn't see it coming. It's not about a real integrity with some ....it's more important that your political tribe think you have real integrity. When it costs them they will just leave the tribe and pretend with a different one.

Their concerns over the impact of brexit are obvious and logical, such as supply chain issues and disruption to business. The fact so many companies are stockpiling shows they are completely serious and not just scaremongering

Whatever happens over Brexit there will still be trade with the EU. So that line of argument is just scare mongering. All that is being argued is how much and on how that trade is conducted. I'll leave this image here for the reality of the imbalance between the UK and EU. The brighter amongst us will be able to look at that chart and work out what is likely to happen.
