For what it's worth, my adopted city of Houston isn't predominantly Hispanic, but Hispanic is the largest racial group at 37% as of the last census. Whites and Hispanics don't even make up 50% of the population. It's worth noting that this is just the city of Houston proper - being about 2 million people; the suburbs are home to about nearly twice that many, and have significant white majorities for the most part.
