Its happening And I have some sympathy with the notion that Israel is not above criticism and has behaved in a way that has been at times absolutely despicable. But none of that alters that reality that Corbyn has actively supported causes and people who seek to destroy Israel. And Israel's very existence is a manifestation of the Jewish belief. To want to destroy Israel is anti-semitic. And that is why Corbyn is in the frame for this. His backbencher past gave him the freedom to offer support for people who any serious politician, with genuine hopes or aspirations of making it to cabinet level, let alone leading it, would have avoided like the plague because of this association. But with regards to the oil, I don't disagree. Of course, the wider issue is primarily a struggle within the Islamic world for dominance with the poor sods in the Souq getting the s***ty end of stick, as is the fate of poor and powerless people everywhere but that is nothing to do with them being Muslim but rather just an accident/design of geology. You can sympathise with their plight without agreeing with their religious beliefs. Now I am a big fan of fracking along with all other forms of alternative energy so that hopefully, much sooner than later, the West can withdraw from the regions involved and let the people from there get on with sorting out there own issue. But lets not pretend that Labour are not primarily concerned with the electoral realities of modern Britain. The Muslim vote is crucial for them. And none of this plays badly with them.

Sadly, the whole situation is an absolute mess, and Israel hold most of the cards in any negotiations (largely due to having a regular army, occupying most of the disputed areas, and being a recognised state). And they aren't willing to give up any of their considerable advantages, to negotiate with (depending on your political viewpoint) terrorists/freedom fighters/resistance movement. Suffice to say, they should simply hold a multi legged football playoff for each disputed area, neutral ref (Palestine vs Israel, playing this week for the West Bank!). That would sort everything out.

? Israel is already surrounded by enemies. Why on earth would they allow the creation of another state, which would presumably wish to grow in wealth and have its own security and forces and also wish for the destruction of Israel........how exactly are the missiles going to stop coming? Why would they allow that? It's never ending preparation for war. You don't feed the viper that wants to sting you. Those would be the actions of a stupid people and the Jewish....for all the valid criticisms that can be aimed at them are very far from stupid. The two state solution died with the assassination of Rabin. As for relying on the US....only the foolish place permanent faith in the never ending support of a foreign state. It's going to be strong for the forseenable future, however there are already recognitions that the Jewish lobbies are too strong in the US and as the immigration levels increase in the US at some point the Jewish influence for Israel's political support is going to reduce.

Why don't you check your facts first? 'Hamas claims 50 of its members died (out of the 62) in Monday's clashes in Gaza' [Link] That's from Hamas themselves. The same group who PAID regular people to breach the border and kill Israelis during their violence and who regularly use human shields. It does make you wonder what is right wing about criticising ,FGM , halal meat, sharia law in Britain and grooming gangs targeting white kids. Surely even the left are oppose to all this?
