A Police officer has died from yesterdays injuries, non terrorist of course!

Which, if his death is deemed to be as result of the violence, could feasibly lead to felony murder charges for anyone who took part. Though from what I heard he's currently on life support. Hopefully he'll pull through.

So trump is going. Who do the left attack now?
I guess dinesh,Kirk etc will be on the radar.
In fact any right leaning speaker.
Then centre left as not left enough.
Now the lefts swamp drain is done.
Who then?
Remember the 'then they came for me' quote.
It could be you!

Trump is going because he lost the election. People died yesterday directly due to his narcissistic inability to accept that fact.

In his new video Trump did not give the woman shot and killed in his name, draped in his flag, a single mention. Indeed he defined those who infiltrated the capitol as 'defiling the seat of American democracy'. This coward ramps rhetoric up to extremes, makes statements he knows to be lies, endorses events designed to provoke and inflame, then immediately points the finger of blame back at those showing unwavering allegiance to him in order to save his own skin. He's done this again and again to the point where he's just about run out of people to throw under the bus.

1812 the yanks were very hospital they even laid out a banquet for us before they fled the building so British officers sat down and enjoyed it then torched the white house. That's how it gets it's name they had to use white wash to cover up the burn marks.

I'm sorry but some of this Trump criticism is just so ridiculous that those providing it deserve some back.

Trump has contested the results of this election. Many people agree that vote harvesting and mail in ballots are not balanced or fraud safe methods in elections.

Now you may not agree with that however, inferring that these claims have some responsibility for violence is no different to the morons who say playing video games leads to violence.

One does not lead to the other. What happened here is a manifestation of the polarisation of America and it isn't going away regardless of the reaction to it....indeed, it will only inflame it further.

Trump said nothing that can fairly be described as incitement. Indeed, when given the opportunity he has spoken against violence and was specific in asking for peaceful demonstrations.

Those who talk about Trump using this as some kind of coup are frankly morons. You do that with mass arrests, and with military upon multiple seats of power at the same time. Some of the waffle I've read on here can only be called hyperbolic TDS.

Other criticisms about Trump I'm not commenting on in this post.

But, but the police are the enemy, right?

They kill Black people and stuff.

Sure. Totally unpredictable outcome and not at all related to how The President had spoken.

So the lack of preparedness is understandable

For some reason Betsy DeVos doesn’t see it that way, I guess she’s just naturally anti Trump.

I doubt that the Proud Boys led the break in to the capital building. Seemed more like Qanon and a general mixture of 'America first' type supporters.

Division in the GOP over Trump?

It's always been there.

Many of us saw this playing out once Trump 'lost'. No one could have predicted this specific event but the taking of sides is inevitable....this event has roughly half support amongst republicans...which even puts them against Trump's opinion.

What comes over most strongly on this thread is just how little the left understand about what's going on within the both the GOP and its base.

It's just this obsession with Trump like he's your Bond villain directing all the pieces or something.

It's all very surface analysis with no understanding of what's actually going on. Because how many of you are actually reading what the grass root republican base are thinking?

You are just all reinforcing your own group think.

I was talking in general terms about the way not everything will always be as some wish you to see it.

Does he? or is it ok if the narrative suits you. At least I know now
