Hopefully we do but it will only protect against Covid19 as we know these things mutate, it's got an equal chance of going inert or ramping up to something more aggressive.

You either shutdown entire countries much like alot of europe & f*** your economy which could actually lead to more deaths & damage than the virus would ever do or you can lock your vulnerable away & let the rest of us catch it & atleast have some immunity against Covid19 & the coming Covid20.

Right now the public seem to like the first option more but I find it the bigger risk tbh

China's measures appear to have been succeeding and they are shutting down hospitals as their new cases are dropping significantly.

Once a vaccine is developed for this virus then the reality is that you have cracked the code of that particular aliment and hence strains that develop are no more deadly than new flu strains are normally....ie you can quickly adjust your vaccine......I think that happens with flu generally.....it's about cracking that code to develop the way to attack the virus initially.

I can't say I agree with the UK's softy softy approach myself but then again the culture for many in the UK isn't that touchy feely anyway I certainly think we won't see the percentage infection that Italy and Spain have....another big factor is that we have far less inter generational family members living in the same house.

When I read this yesterday I thought it was just speculation but it has been confirmed this morning.

This is a very big deal and will take some organisation, both for me personally and those in the community, which has a larger than average number of retired people.

Oh well. I will just have to spend more time on social media. I bet you are all really pleased!

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

And yet the Labour party is currently supporting the expert advice that the government has been given so would have followed the same route.

I think only authoritarian governments like Singapore have been able to implement effective policies that people in the UK would not tolerate.

Across the Western world no leaders are looking good because there is no right answer. Later when the fuss has died down I expect we will find out which experts were right.

As for Boris I can't fault him for taking the advice of the experts what else is he expected to do.
