I suspect that as with all Politicians that AS has some really unpleasant stuff on sturgeon and some of those close to her.
He is in the mire anyway and doesn't care too much where the dirt lands as long as he gets the chance to throw it.
I can't stand any of them but I hope he gets the information out there because if he does I reckon Wee Krankie may have to walk!

It may actually be nothing new but not allowing it is a misstep and will probably give it more prominence that it deserves.

It's quite a clever move by the SNP if they do it is unlikely that the unionist parties will properly debate it as it is illegal so the SNP will have a clear field to promote their view.

It needs the likes of Gordon Brown to step up and start asking the awkward questions such as:

What currency will you use as the UK government will not allow you to be part of the pound?

How are you going to fund the massive deficit that Scotland has racked up which means that it cannot join the EU until that has been addressed?

If the answer to the above 2 questions is this is the UK's problem not Scotland's then how do you justify to your voters that your first act as an independent country is to p*ss off your largest export market and the global money markets?

Freedom of movement to the UK will end in line with the rest of the world, does that not bother you?

How will you define a Scottish citizen?

And so on..

If there is no legal way for them to have one then they have to have an illegal one.
Its a very unique situation they are in, there is almost nothing in the UK that we cannot get democratically if enough of the public want it. But even if 100% of Scots wanted indi, they cannot control Westminster to demand it.

The desire to have the referendum is there, its well over 50% now. Wether those people want to vote yes or no is irrelevant. If we dont let them have one when the Uk is not even slightly in the same place as it was last time, we really have to look hard in the mirror

The Scottish Parliament has now decided to publish Salmond's allegation.

I suspect it will be embarrassing for Wee Jimmy but not enough to force her resignation.

Wouldn't it be more democratic if the whole of the UK voted in a referendum for Scottish independence? Why are they so special? The rest of us might even do the job for them and put the whining barstewards in their place!!!

Yup I think the SNP underestimates the number of English supporters they have.

300 years ago in an attempt to compete with the English empire the Scots decided to set up their own colony in central America which was going to make them all rich.

Practically everybody in the country invested and borrowed to invest in this venture which of course turned out to be a disease ridden disaster.

The country was bankrupt and had no choice but to beg the English to bail them out, political union was the price they paid.

I don't want the Scots to leave but there are days when I get sick of the anti English rhetoric and think to hell with it.

The problem is that economically it doesn't make sense. The oil is running out and nobody wants it anyway. The Scottish economy could not support the level of debit it now carries so once they spiral into an economic slump they will naturally blame us for their bad decisions and it is possible that they may impact our economy adversely.

Itís not a subject that comes up very often but when it does Iíve found most people have a Head v. Heart attitude and are quite pragmatic about it. There could be a change in opinion in the future when thereís another King Billy on the throne.
I had an exchange in the pub a while ago after an England Scotland rugby match. The guvínor asked me when I was going to start wearing a Scotland shirt? I said as soon as he wore an England one. All just pub banter until some charmer at the bar said ďI wouldnít wipe my erse on an England shirtĒ I said, Thatís good. We donít want you to. He went a funny colour and I havenít seen him since.

Also getting a bit sinister up in Scotland...

Salmond going into full-on vindictive mode and the SNP controlled Government machine doing its best to somehow sideline it all. LOL.

If they ever get full independence, they will have concentration camps within 3 years. The SNP really are a bunch of arseholes.

Well Salmond has made some pretty damming allegations, essentially that there was a conspiracy between politicians, civil service, police and the Scottish law office to discredit him and subvert the cause of justice.

He also says that Scotland is not ready for independence under the current leadership, this could be a body blow to the SNP.

However his allegations so far are long on accusations and short on evidence which no doubt Wee Jimmy will point out next week. He does however say he has texts and witnesses that back it all up, we shall see.

If even half of what he says is true it essentially means that the SNP has been running Scotland as a one party state and interfering with due process and the independence of the civil service and justice system.

I suspect a lot of what he says has a ring of truth the question is who do the Scottish voters believe?

Latest polls show a big drop in support for independence not unexpected we will now see how good a politician Sturgeon is, can she survive this and get the "cause" back on track.

Plus over 60% of Scottish Exports go to the rest of the UK and the stuff they sell to mainland Europe still generally goes through England.

I respect the desire for independence and would of course respect it without rancor if it actually happened (if it were fair to the rest of us).....though there are practical issues like defence that would require serious cooperation.

However, what I respect is true independence....leaving the UK just to join the EU super-state and obey whatever the German Chancellor thinks seems less about independence and more about hating the English.

Also continuing to use the sterling currency is trying to have your cake and eat it too and shouldn't be allowed.
