What you are supporting is the subversion of a democratic vote because you didn't agree with the outcome.

You seem to have an issue with what the point of a referendum is. Two separate arguments for two outcomes are meant to be made.

Hannan isn't lying here, he's presenting the best case for. This is exactly what Remain did. Were lies told on both sides? Yes, but mainly by others.....lies were told about as much as they are told in every political election....both before and after.

Hannan though, while I differ with him, tends to be a far more honest politician than most.

I was never sold on the economic arguments that were made precisely partly because of the subversion of remainers/EU and partly because of the pain that would be involved. However...the main point was immigration....and I never expected the immigration aspect of Brexit to be so horribly betrayed.

Democracy is a lie.

No it's not at all - you don't get define Brexit for everyone else based on your own interpretation of what it would look like.

Separate visions exist. One vision won a vote, the other didn't.

When one vision is suppressed, personally I don't regard it as a fair analysis to state that the vision is a failure when you have supported its suppression.

If democracy was real it would have been allowed its chance to play out.

However, instead what has happened has been quite disgraceful.

Regardless, this means that if you ever get the kind of result that you desire in politics that you can have no complaint if it is also suppressed.

So for example, if a leftist complains about the dirty tactics used against Corbyn it's hypocritical to complain if they also supported this. All purely based upon the basis that what's good for the goose...

However, I just don't agree with this kind of politics as valid. I'm fully aware that it happens but it should always be the subject of criticism.

I am not offering any interpretation or hypotheticals about what Brexit could have looked like - just the reality of what it does look like now.

But you said the poster’s interpretation wasn’t correct or needed to help the cause or explain the thing that’s Brexit. Interpretation is in the eye or an individual.
Whats is it iyo!

Four years on and the sky hasn't fallen yet.

Remember when Osbourne predicted instant catastrophe if we voted leave?

Now those predicting disaster are talking about a 'slow puncture' of decline. Fancy that.

The fact is that figures on the term since Brexit show that we have done quite well compared to other European nations, despite a war and a pandemic.
More importantly, we have escaped from the grip of EU law making and are finding a new sense of pride in our independence.

If only the Tories had actually got the balls to sort out immigration.

Yes, remember that we were told that the stock market would crash - it quickly reached record highs. House prices would collapse - they reached record highs. There would be mass unemployment - it reduced to record lows.

A feeble response, even by your standards.

I'm not surprised that you'd rather avoid facts.
