Biden lied over Covid....what was it again...'I have a plan' and that he was going to beat it. He lies about everything.....but he's their liar so that's alright. He lied about Afghanistan....incredible incompetence. He lied about the economy...look at inflation...when he came in they were headed for energy independence.....both he and his party are a disaster. And the latest joke, him lying over that he wouldn't sell weapons to the Saudis. But worst of all I wouldn't let that guy anywhere near a child alone .....he's a protected freak. Every politician announces their intentions, and needs to account for any failure to bring them about. If they don't, it's not lying. It's a failure. Every politician's plans get blown off track by events, new information, new realities and new priorities. All politicians, Trump included, face that. That's not why Trump is a liar. He lies about everything. He repeatedly says things that are clearly untrue, like the mythical "election fraud". Biden did have a plan over Covid. Much of it worked well. The situation in Afghanistan was inherited, and there was a deliberate stalling by the Trump administration over passing on information. It became a nasty mess, but that doesn't mean Biden lied. The economy is not in his hands. He is but one cog in a big wheel. What the background is to the Saudi deal I have no idea, but I bet it leaves a nasty taste in his mouth too. Just remember what Macmillan said when asked what was the most difficult thing for a politician, "Events, my dear boy, events". Does that make Macmillan a liar too?

Trump lies but Biden isn't lying.....yeah ok. Here is a link to Biden's comments on Saudi during the candidate debates. I could respond to pretty much everything in that post but I know it's pointless.....but I can't let that 'Biden inherited' line go over Afghanistan....it's so BS and so typical. Biden inherited Trump's plans over everything. He choose to cancel a pipeline in construction with the loss of tens of thousands of jobs and the prospect of energy security.....He decided to do that radically changing course over Trump's intent. The suggestion that the events in Afghanistan were somehow set isn't only a lie it's not supported by Biden's military figures themselves.....Also Biden did in fact immediately change Trump's leaving date on taking over.....He literally went against his general's own advice. Biden inherited a poor situation, especially over the pandemic. He isn't alone. Johnson's reputation is taking a battering. He will have done his job, which was always to get Trump out of the WH. It matters much more about what will happen at the mid-terms. Any new Democratic President won't want both houses held by a Trump supporting GOP. That would be a disaster for everyone, as a legislative hiatus could ensue. When Trump's figures were that low it was a reflection on how badly he was doing. Biden's figures are the same and it's also a reflection on how badly Trump performed.

For he won't then have had access then to all the security briefings and confidential information. As I said, events change perceptions and force new imperatives. It was ever thus. It's nothing new, so jumping on Biden's neck for it is pure hypocrisy. In some ways, Biden didn't inherit a plan from Trump. All he really inherited was a deadline, which many thought was too soon and did not permit adequate planning. Biden, aware of the strong desire in the USA to get the job done asap, kept as close as to the deadline as he could. We know there was a deal with the Taliban, but not all the details. Events suggest that a long delay would have been better, but maybe that would have broken an agreement and made things worse. I don't know, and maybe we will never know. The whole thing was a mess. Biden inherited a mess and it continued. In hindsight, we may come to realise that getting the mess over asap was actually the best outcome available, and that achieving that was down to Biden. Many of Trump's plans deserved to be cancelled. Biden promised he would do so, and did. No lies there. You just don't like the policies.

To go from over 81m votes to a 38% favourable rating in a matter of months is some going.

I stand by those words. Biden is not a "liar", in any meaningful way, He is a politician. All politicians sometime have to change their minds or be "economical with the truth". If Biden is a liar, then so is every other politician. A liar is someone who habitually tells untruths to suit their agenda. They do so in all circumstances, without shame or concern for others. Trump is a liar. He isn't really a politician. He is a reality TV star who tapped into the discontent in a particular section of US society and the unpopularity of his opponent, who had a hatchet job done on her. Trump is a terrible reflection of how unfit for purpose the US system has become. It is your opinion that Biden, and his administration, are a disaster. It isn't mine. You are describing what is, not what might be. I was describing a hypothetical situation in which Trump was still President, and also speculated about the way people are forming their opinions these days and how that helps explain what has happened.
