I stand by those words. Biden is not a "liar", in any meaningful way, He is a politician. All politicians sometime have to change their minds or be "economical with the truth". If Biden is a liar, then so is every other politician.

A liar is someone who habitually tells untruths to suit their agenda. They do so in all circumstances, without shame or concern for others.

Trump is a liar. He isn't really a politician. He is a reality TV star who tapped into the discontent in a particular section of US society and the unpopularity of his opponent, who had a hatchet job done on her. Trump is a terrible reflection of how unfit for purpose the US system has become.

It is your opinion that Biden, and his administration, are a disaster. It isn't mine. I will reserve judgement until 2024. So long as they keep Trump out of the WH then it will have achieved a notable success.

You use words in a very strange way.

Only strange people find them strange. Over the years, I have had many appreciative things said about them. Never mind, at least you read them. That's a start.

Excellent sentence Cryrst, I would only change the word 'strange' for dishonest.

The difference between someone like Jimmy Dore and WE is that....as much as I might disagree with some of his politics a person like Dore or indeed, Russell Brand actually values honesty.

They aren't prepared to accept lies as a means to an end just because it's their political tribe.

I think that principle is actually one that can unite people who might otherwise disagree on many other topics.

Binary political systems. they are designed to split opinion and keep the voters distracted.

Those who defend Trump and his use, for instance, of terms like "fake news" to describe things that are demonstrably true, would do well to reflect on that quote.

"... words falls upon the facts like soft snow, blurring the outline and covering up all the details. The great enemy of clear language is insincerity. You express opinions. So do I. I don't describe you as dishonest. When I see specific untruths, I call them out, but I will say why I believe it to be the case.

You are very much like Trump in that you regard anyone who disagrees with you as a liar. For you, truth is what you believe is true.

Dore is a comedian who mines politics for his material. Brand is an attention seeker who likes to promote himself as above the swamp in which politicians have to exist.

To hold either up as paragons of virtue is itself dishonest, for they ultimately do what they do for their own benefit. Both are entertainers who need to keep an audience engaged to pay their bills.

I am no more in Biden's "tribe" than I am in any. My loyalty is, and always will be, to the wider issue of restoring decency and integrity both in politics and the wider world. That I believe that everything that Trump represents is the nadir of decency and integrity, it is unsurprising I oppose him and his brand of politics. That doesn't mean I support Biden. I will defend any decent politician, from either side.

What I detest is the current efforts of those on the right to try to establish some equivalency between Biden and Trump. Not only in competence, but also in terms of honesty. The truth is that Biden is pretty typical of the political world, needing sometimes to duck and dive, use deliberately obscure terminology etc. Trump though, is on another planet in terms of what he does.

If you regard Biden as a liar, then he plays on Mitcham Common whilst Trump has won the World Cup. It's just not comparable and there is no equivalence.

This propaganda is being deliberately spread. Who has designed it raises interesting questions, but those who help do it need to "hang their heads" in shame.

Oh, I do. Ask my wife. She insists on it.

Mind you, she is right an awful lot more frequently than those who oppose me here, but you will witness it from time to time. Maybe you haven't noticed.

No they don't! They haven't expressed an opinion. You are describing what is, not what might be.

I was describing a hypothetical situation in which Trump was still President, and also speculated about the way people are forming their opinions these days and how that helps explain what has happened.

A pyrotechnic display of logic chopping there. They haven’t expressed an opinion? It was literally a poll on opinions.
Remember politicians are elected to take decisions for the electorate. Don’t like the decisions? Vote them out. Don’t like the choice of candidates? Find better options.

You are missing the point, not me!

They haven't expressed an opinion on what I suggested. The questions they were asked were entirely different.

What the poll reveals is all it reveals. It has no bearing at all
on the points I made.
