Of course not.

People who voted Brexit only share one thing. They voted Brexit. I am sure some are nice people. Mistaken, but nice. I am sure some who voted Remain are nasty people. Correct but nasty.

They also share a big fecking smile on their faces.

Agreed. Trump did well handling China. It would have been interesting seeing how that would have developed during a second term, whether he’d be able to keep that up. Although ultimately it doesn’t really matter as policy was always going to revert back to a more diplomatic, expected approach after he went. Now or in 4 years time.

But diplomatic does not work with the Chinese. Pretty major air-incursion yesterday into Tawainese airspace. They only respect strength.

Also mixed messages coming out from the US. Even seen Saint Obama concede that Trump got far more right about China than wrong and how he would should have stood up to them far more than he did.

And that despite the supposed love in between Biden and the EU, there are already stresses and strains about the EU and its attempt to cosy up to China by way of trying to increase German exports.

How it plays out I do not know and the Biden administration includes some worrying choices including people actually compromised in the recent past by Chinese intelligence assets. Certainly an interesting political narrative to keep an eye on.

And the weirdest looking health secretary on god's green earth.

As for the rest, he seems to have appointed the lefty version of Goldman Sachs.

Of course they don't.

Those who now regret it, and there are many, are feeling both embarrassed and worried. Including quite a few Cornish fishermen I hear.

I was in an amdram group many years ago and was in several pantomimes. Never as Cinderella though. Haven't got the legs for it, although the boobs might pass these days!

Good experience though for this place which often has reasoning which could have come straight out of a pantomime script.

I gotta say, I can't get over some of these Trump pardons.

He has to explain this to the right......he was pardoning people who hate him.

With Trump you have to wonder whether he even read what was in front of him as far as some of these pardons go. Or it may be that money talks, especially for those with a 20 stretch in front of them. That's the language he understands more than any other.

I doubt he cares about the views of the right, or anyone for that matter, as long as he's getting his 2 mill per pardon for his post presidency fund

Trump wants to set up ‘MAGA party’ to challenge Republicans who voted to impeach him, says report - [Link]

Quote Donald Trump reportedly wants to set up his his own “MAGA Party” to challenge “disloyal” Republicans who helped impeach him in the House – or else are considering voting to convict him in the Senate.

On Monday, a single article of impeachment is set to be transferred from the House of Representatives to the Senate, where members of the upper chamber will next month consider Mr Trump’s fate. If Mr Trump, who is the only president to have been impeached twice, is convicted in the Senate, he could also be barred from ever running for federal office again.

Over the weekend it was reported Mr Trump, now ensconced at his estate in Florida, has been talking to advisers about establishing a third party, that could be called the Patriot Party, or perhaps the Make America Great Again Party, borrowing from his campaign slogan.

At the same time, figures such as Fox News anchor Sean Hannity, unelected but with huge influence among many conservatives, in effect warned Republican senate leader Mitch McConnell he would face a primary challenger if he voted to convict Mr Trump.

Interesting times ahead. A tricky spot for McConnell, though I can't help thinking that he'll be hoping for Trump to be barred from holding office even if he doesn't personally vote to convict. Trump could of course, liberty and legal issues dependent, still be a big player without being directly elected though, assuming that's money in it for him. A Fox News competitor. That appeared to be his plan, and probably preference, four years ago.

Most likely the right answer. Trump has no allegiance to others than where its in his financial and egos interest. The amount of times he dropped somebody in the sh!t as soon as it looked like there was a problem on the horizon. Not to mention him not giving a damn about his Capitol Hill disciples, whether dead, alive or imprisoned. He doesn't care.
