Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Sterling…. I don’t post that regularly but follow this thread and it’s comments closely and daily. I’m interested in the topic because it’s a big deal and half my family (although I’m not close to them) live in Kiev. Generally, I agree with your opinions on most things, and you’re clearly an intelligent bloke, but I’m afraid you’re so off the mark with this. The way you conduct yourself against Wisbech suggests you have no proper response and resort to low level digs. For what it’s worth, I disagree with Wisbech on most of his centre/left views. If you want respect from passive HOLer’s, you need to post with more respect and up your game. This war is simply about a deranged bully (Putin) trying to forcefully take land from a democratic and peaceful country in Ukraine. Any sane leader would focus on trying to make their country and people prosperous and successful. NATO are standing up to a modern day Hitler and so we should. No one wants this war. If Ukraine/NATO/Europe accept it, then what country does Russia invade next? God forbid this war ever reaches our shores, but if it does, this is the sort of thing you fight for. The Russian army don’t know what they’re fighting for. The Ukrainians are fighting for their freedom and future. Good will win.

Another personal criticism posing as a reply. I suggest you follow your own advice and stop posting “at” me, if you find the exercise so distasteful. I make no excuses for anyone. I just believe you are wrong in most of your analyses. That the wealth gap has widened is indeed a statistical fact, which no-one denies. What is wrong is your assertion that there is some kind of conspiratorial master plan by a group of “elites” behind it. We are the masters at home. If we want change we can get change. What we cannot change are things beyond any one country’s control. Global events demand global co-operation and that needs organisation and structure. Things you resist at every turn. So it’s the attitude of people like you that is responsible for restraining efforts to improve the fairer distribution of wealth. Of course you don’t really care about that at all! What concerns you is making sure that your situation isn’t negatively impacted by those efforts. Everyone else can go to hell.
