I would largely agree with what you say about moustache man, though I don't really agree with the idea that using socialism doesn't make someone a socialist...I'd say it's some form of it...However, If you prefer social revolutionary I wouldn't disagree with that.

Putin is an authoritarian....he's heavily into ostracizing people who disagree with his way of doing things....sounds a bit familiar if you ask me.

It's all very familiar if you read Gab and follow the likes of Nick Fuentes and his "America First" movement. I hear many echoes of Putin's attitude there. Such people deserve to be ostracised by decent society, who have every right not to associate with them. Just as the west has decided no longer to associate with Putin. Parallels a many.

Just watching a program about ww2 where Ukraine is an actual country separate from Russia, on the map anyway. 7 million Jews but how many murdered is unknown. The bread basket of Europe as it was then and still is/was now. Maybe its all about the money!

Parts of Ukraine was essentially parts of Slavic and Turkish empires until the Soviets quickly took it from them following the revolution. There having been Russians in the east for centuries.

The Soviets starved the Ukrainians in the Holodomor...which is the genocide from WW2 that not many seem to know about. It's hard to be certain about the figures but it's thought to be in the millions....With the Holocaust, the figure you always hear is six million. When I looked into it I came to the conclusion it was somewhere between four and seven.....non biased research on it is harder to find than you'd think.

Yep, Ukraine is pretty important bread basket wise.....Cryrst this whole thing is one giant incompetent feck up of immense proportions. It never ceases to amaze me how the elites responsible get to swan along without paying for their total ineptitude.

You can only conclude that the meritocracy values that most live by don't really apply to them.....when you're in the club that gets to judge itself that's probably not surprising......At least when there were Kings we could point at the guy where the buck stopped.

It's the EU sanctions that have currently shut down RT as the UK version receives via satellite from Luxemburg.

'brexit means brexit'.

I am watching Putin's latest diatribe on the RT player though, it is live.

Well, you're no better then. You do the same thing and justify that just like they do.

Regardless there's you Waffling away about Nick Fuentes again.

Fuentes has no power.

Look maybe when Fuentes is even a little close to gaining power then you complaining might have even the tiniest bit of relevance. Even then I'd disagree with your support for censorship....that actually creates worst situations.

As it is the people in power currently royally fecking things up come with your apparent seal of approval.

What has been talked about is what Putin was hoping to achive, i.e.
occupation / a puppet government with buffer zone, with the western allies giving in, and Putin having "worked a blinder" to cheering adulation.
However, ...that doesnt seem to be happening does it? He is isolating his country and taking it down a road of economic crisis through sanctions.
I was going to have a look at RT again to widen my new sources but its been shut down.

We talked about the economic options for Russia as well.

I haven't read much 'cheering' myself.

However, it's definitely going to hit them hard in the short and mid term as it's going to hit us hard also.....poor people are going to suffer on both sides.

However, personally I don't see that working as a tactic, in fact it's just going to solidify attitudes if it continues....and due to economic pressures on both sides I don't see it continuing past a year or two personally....maybe I'm wrong but I see the world far more cynically than some.

This 'isolation' that you talk about seems to just omit the BRIC countries...plus the middle east and various others....There's a lot of talk but not a lot that wants to talk about demand and supply.

Russian landing craft & Rocket ships filmed heading to Odesa
[Link]

Depending on how fierce the fighting is in Odesa the Russians may feel confident and push into Moldova or they could wait for reinforcements either way were going to have the Russians right on the border with Romania soon.

A really interesting thread on twitter as to why the Russian campaign in the south is having a much better time of it compared to the North & East

From BBC news website:

"Russia's second-largest oil producer Lukoil is calling for an end to the conflict in Ukraine.

In a statement on its website, the company said it was concerned by the "tragic events in Ukraine" and supported the negotiations to end the conflict.

Its board called for "the immediate cessation of the armed conflict and fully supports its resolution through the negotiation process and through diplomatic means".

The company is thought to be one of the first major Russian firms to speak out against the invasion."

Let's hope the next round of talks gets somewhere.

This is far more likely to get Putin's attention than his own people, so is maybe a good sign that a solution other than violence can be reached. I expect Putin hopes for a good compromise, rather than an endless war.

the notion of the West being the Angel and Putin being the Devil is way too simplistic.

there are probably Devils on all sides.

Certainly, as there are bound to be 'Angels' on either side. Nothing's ever black and white anymore not considering barcodes, zebras, pandas etc.
