I hear many echoes of Putin's attitude there. Such people deserve to be ostracised by decent society, who have every right not to associate with them. Just as the west has decided no longer to associate with Putin. Parallels a many.

The Soviets starved the Ukrainians in the Holodomor...which is the genocide from WW2 that not many seem to know about. It's hard to be certain about the figures but it's thought to be in the millions....With the Holocaust, the figure you always hear is six million. When I looked into it I came to the conclusion it was somewhere between four and seven.....non biased research on it is harder to find than you'd think. Yep, Ukraine is pretty important bread basket wise.....Cryrst this whole thing is one giant incompetent feck up of immense proportions. It never ceases to amaze me how the elites responsible get to swan along without paying for their total ineptitude. You can only conclude that the meritocracy values that most live by don't really apply to them.....when you're in the club that gets to judge itself that's probably not surprising......At least when there were Kings we could point at the guy where the buck stopped.

It's the EU sanctions that have currently shut down RT as the UK version receives via satellite from Luxemburg. 'brexit means brexit'. I am watching Putin's latest diatribe on the RT player though, it is live.

Look maybe when Fuentes is even a little close to gaining power then you complaining might have even the tiniest bit of relevance. Even then I'd disagree with your support for censorship....that actually creates worst situations. Russian landing craft & Rocket ships filmed heading to Odesa Depending on how fierce the fighting is in Odesa the Russians may feel confident and push into Moldova or they could wait for reinforcements either way were going to have the Russians right on the border with Romania soon. A really interesting thread on twitter as to why the Russian campaign in the south is having a much better time of it compared to the North & East [Tweet Link]

From BBC news website: "Russia's second-largest oil producer Lukoil is calling for an end to the conflict in Ukraine. In a statement on its website, the company said it was concerned by the "tragic events in Ukraine" and supported the negotiations to end the conflict. Its board called for "the immediate cessation of the armed conflict and fully supports its resolution through the negotiation process and through diplomatic means". The company is thought to be one of the first major Russian firms to speak out against the invasion."

This is far more likely to get Putin's attention than his own people, so is maybe a good sign that a solution other than violence can be reached. I expect Putin hopes for a good compromise, rather than an endless war.
