An immigration policy of allowing tens of thousands of uneducated military age men into our country many of whom are criminals is hardly a balanced immigration policy.

We need to focus on stopping these criminal gangs and making it uneconomic for the traffickers and the migrants to come.

By all means then have a process where people in their home countries can apply to come but they have to bring something to the table (skills) or on humanitarian grounds e.g. sick kids. Fit young men with no education or skills are not what this country needs right now.

I moved from the Croydon area 57 years ago (post codes didn't exist) back then. Firstly for love, and then for work. I soon found I preferred smaller places to cities, and progressively moved to a rural environment. I have absolutely no wish to return to the hectic pace and noise of city life.

If you like it, fine. I don't, but it has nothing at all to do with where my neighbours, or their ancestors, originated. So long as people behave respectfully, I show them respect.

That's OK then because we don't have such a policy. We have a problem with people getting around the policy and no easily achieved solution to the problem.

The criminal gangs and traffickers are actually the UK government this is state trafficking.

To anybody on here who is happy with the current situation which allows anybody to turn up at our border and claim asylum, and the UK Government has to accept it, what is the maximum number of such people you would accept?

All to do with immigration

Nothing to do with austerity measures introduced in 2008 onwards. Nor the banking crisis, covid, Brexit, climate change or international political uncertainty

So your logic is that we should ignore the biggest factor just because there are others.

Good thinking.

Covid and Brexit have little to do with it. Climate change causes migration.
The banking crisis did not cause too few houses, stagnant wages or a lack of British doctor and nurses. That was all caused by bad policy, the most significant being mass immigration. Short termism that cannot be sustained.

You will do anything to avoid the obvious because you are an idealistic delusional.

Who and what line? ARE we talking about illegal immigrants crossing the line? If you don't belong here then don't cross the line.
