In terms of inflation. that’s a reasonable argument, but depreciation also has to be taken into account, Wilf is an athlete and his performance statistics have most likely already gone down a bit, Mother Nature says his performance states will diminish.
It’s only a personal view but there is every chance if the club stretch Wilfs income to far beyond the rest of the team, they will be making a big problem in that dressing room.
For me Wilf is still an exceptionally useful player, he looked to be getting right back in the groove in the forty odd minutes before his ham string played up, so keep him if possible but not at all costs regardless of inflation
