We’ve already got 2 strikers who don’t score any goals, 3 if you include our current no 9.
Do we really need another?

Following Palace since 25 Feb 1978

Agreed

With so many prepared to accept Che Adams, for me this is sad indictment of the level of expectation we have at the club. Not criticising these opinions, if anything they are realistic.

Yup we are realistic or pessimistic although I did hear that Harry Kane has a yearning for Croydon.

We're less than a week away from the start of the season and neither Edouard or Mateta have shown any signs they are about to turn things around. Of the two I think Mateta has looked the better in preseason mainly because he at least makes runs. Edouard looks like he's given up before a pass is played half the time. I struggle to get excited about Adams, but the expectation will probably be so low that he at least won't be under any pressure! On the plus side he is quite strong and physical and puts himself about which could help Eze, Olise and Ayew in terms of having someone to play off.

Yup, pretty much sums it up & i agree. To be noted that Everton, Wolves & B'mouth are all interested in him with the latter 2 having already put bids in for him. Click-bait is the source.

Exactly. Adams would be a slight upgrade on what we have and if he was to be given first striker status, who knows, it might even wake Edouard up from his slumbers.

The alternative is to find another Vardy or Toney in the lower leagues. We can but hope and dream.

Strange how people see things differently, I think the exact opposite to you, in the pre season games, i have watched them all, I have been surprisingly encouraged by Edouward, he has looked a lot more involved, but Mateta to me not interested, but that’s football supporters for you, the only opinion that matters is Roy’s, time will tell

Maybe - they’d let Solanke go if they got Adams in the door? I think Solanke would be a really good fit for us….wish we’d sign him.

We've been linked with Solanke numerous times before and if I recall correctly one of the deciding factors was simply that he didn't want to play for Palace.
Not that it bothers me. Generally when I watch him play I might be heard under my breath whispering something along the lines of "Thank f*** we didn't sign him"
