What really concerns me most about reading this thread is the absolute hatred some of you feel - I could maybe understand if you were personally involved or been robbed by them, but you haven't! As Bexter said, if I was being burgled I would be so angry and have no hesitation in kicking them into the middle of next week, but do they deserve to die? I agree Tony Martin was a man on the edge, but he shouldn't have had that shotgun in the first place (wasn't his licence revoked?). Life is precious, and if you take a life, you have to pay the consequences, unfortunately. I would quite happily see the whole robbing Barras family rounded up and locked away for a very long time, but why such hate when you don't even know these people?

Strong feelings, yes I agree, but hate is such a destructive emotion, and the only person to suffer in the end is you. What I mean is, there are varying degrees and kinds of 'hatred', just as there is with the 'love' you feel towards your mother, your wife your favourite film ie; there's the dismissive kind of hatred that is really dislike, like; 'don't ya just hate that' and then at the other end of the scale there's the corrosive destructive hatred that makes you ill. I think the way some of us feel about Barras and his mob is somewhere between the two. I mean, I don't think any of us goes to sleep at night grinding our teeth over it. I mean, I can understand your hatred of the Barras clan to some degree because of that. With others on here, I get the impression that it is more to do with the fact they are Pikeys than they are criminals. Which worries me.

I see your point - I was going to elaborate before I was rudely interrupted; I agree there are varying levels of 'hate' as there are with 'love', but whilst I don't think you personally are losing any sleep over it, I think you are nearer the top of the scale because it is closer to home. I mean, I can understand your hatred of the Barras clan to some degree because of that. I can't imagine how it must feel to have so much hate inside for someone who you hasn't personally effected your own life, it's dark. Having Gypsy blood in me too makes these comments particularily grim.
