Yesterday Corbyn put the boot into the Tories on the floods oop north.

I have since heard several local Labour politicians give a more measured response e.g Mayor of Sheffield. They were more politically aware than Corbyn and said "this is not the time for political point scoring, people have lost their homes etc."

Frankly Corbyn could do himself a favour by listening to how they responded to the questions. They came across as measured and fair and beneath the rhetoric they still managed a dig at the Tories.

Also Corbyn was wrong with his snide remark about if the floods happened in the south. Apparently the north has received far more funding for flood prevention than the south. Now maybe it hasn't been spent wisely but he just can't resist having a dig which he can't back up with facts.

How the money is spent is down to the Environment Agency and many question their competency but that is not necessarily the fault of the government.

None of this helps those who have lost their homes of course. I also wonder if the local Labour people were more measured because they are concerned someone might ask the question who allowed homes to be built here. And then again a flood expert pointed out that that amount of rain was bound to cause trouble and you cannot prevent every flooding.

Still all to play for.

After the referendum all parties should have allowed their MP's a free vote on matters Brexit.

But, in 2017, they didn't have to stand on a Brexit manifesto did they? They could have resigned or stood as independants, which several are doing now. They chose to back Brexit to win votes, without any intention of seeing Brexit through

Let alone Somerset in 2012, when the best we got was a flying 20 minute visit from a man from the EA (in a suit and polished shoes!) who got out of his chauffeur driven limo, looked at all the water and the one lone pump and went off again.....

It was only when Prince Charles can down to Muchelney for the day (in Barbour and wellies) talked to the farmers and the flood-isolated victims, then went off back to town and kicked some ars*s, that anything happened.

Politicians and flooding never mix

Just found out an amusing titbit from Toby Young that In 2002 Corbyn moved an amendment in the House of Commons congratulating the BBC for leaving 'Rule Britannia' out of The Last Night of the Proms that year.

Now he wants to run it....it's scary to think how close he got to it when May was at the helm.

Meanwhile the Green Party have announced if they win they will appoint a "carbon Chancellor".

Well why not after all we had a few wooden tops in the past.

The Greens have more chance of finding a male member with a properly functioning Y chromosome than of winning the election.

You seem really familiar 'Bill'.

Your leader is a terrorist-supporting, flood victim exploiting Marxist scumbag who is hated by a good chunk of his own party.

How bad can Boris look?
