It’s all Fedex and DHL at this time of night. A graphic description of the current state of play

Some lady who is employed at Heathrow dealing with cargo commented yesterday after her shift had ended that it was very busy and she had a rather challenging day.

So whilst there is hardly any passenger traffic at Heathrow, the cargo planes are in operation and of course freight is required both inbound and outbound.I do not know how much cargo activity there is at Gatwick which currently only has the South Terminal in operation.

Some people I have spoken to who live under the Gatwick flighpath are enjoying the peace and tranquility!

Well done you have single-handedly made the political threads a highly unpleasant and tedious place to visit.

I am supremely confident that if you were to take a straw poll of Hol users you would be proved catastrophically misguided.

Either way, grown men spending a significant amount of their time online bickering and squabbling - for this is precisely what it is, be under no illusion otherwise - really ought to have a good look at themselves. It is lame, lamentable and such an utter, utter waste of time. (Not to mention being tedious for others.)

By all means spend their time debating issues, if that's their thing - and the odd minor spat is always likely occasionally to break out - but to regularly engage in sniping, nit-picking, name-calling and even, on occasion, bullying is just tragic.

Someone on here (Jake D'eagle possibly) once offered a joke that works here. I won't give it in full as it is undeniably mean-spirited and poor-taste (though I would be lying if I claimed it's never made me chuckle), but anyone who knows it might agree...

Always quick with the witty quip eh Willo.

We in God’s own town used to get incoming Heathrow fights over us. Nary a Trent or a GE90 to be heard

My comments weren't intended to be witty !

Furthermore at my 'Ripe' age I am far from mentally agile
and see myself as a Reliant Robin smoking down the fast lane of life!

No more due to the current pandemic, which is a shame.
Talking pandemics, can anyone remember being locked in their homes during the last one?

I was born in 1952.
I don't ever recall having to remain in the 'Big Brother House" as one is instructed to do at present.

Average time between infection and death from COVID-19 is 23 days. The 563 people who died today were most likely infected on the day Patrick Vallance (England’s Chief Scientific Adviser) contradicted the WHO and said -

‘no need to avoid pubs or churches, (unless you've got coronavirus of course). But we may advise the elderly to do this later.’

Today marks the 23rd day after the start of Cheltenham Festival

If the mornings papers are anything to go by, the usually very favourable press is even starting to turn.

And then came snowdonia and every other place when the sun came out and knowledge and advice were ignored. In two weeks it will go again sadly. Most countries missed opportunities and made the wrong call.
