Mate, this may be why you're struggling in life. If you want to find out whether we have a new manager, I'd humbly suggest a fan forum website probably isn't the best place to find an answer to your question.

You could be right. Certainly not in this fan forum! His entry on Wikipedia says he was appointed as manager of Crystal Palace today and we all know Wikipedia doesn’t lie!

If this is true - and knowing Palace, I'm not counting any Chickens until the coop has been officially displayed....
This appears to be an excellent appointment. seems to know how to play with youth, likes Counter attacks, And is flexible tactically. Of all the Managers spouted around, this guy has to be one of the best.
Time will tell if he's the right fit, but it's a great start and a massive job for him.
Also, a suitably big name that players who were 50/50 may be persuaded to stay, which can only be a good thing.

For some reason though, FDB's epitaph of "Evolution not Revolution" is stuck in my mind. Can we transition to his style quickly enough? I do hope so. and I also hope we give him enough time to iron out early issues.

Exciting times ahead !

FDB was the wrong fit as he wasn't pragmatic enough he wanted us to play his way when we didn't have the players.

I hope that Favre is pragmatic and accepts that it will taken time to change the style and the players.

With our tough start I would be happy with a Hodgson style performance grinding out a few results against the big boys and then change it after that.

Why should I? I strongly hope he's the right manager for us, and surely he has managed high level teams so nothing at the moment suggest me he couldn't be the right manager for us.
Yet, I keep reading that now he's going to play in the Premier League obscure unproven kids that never even played in Div. 2, or now he's going to play free flowing attacking football makes me laugh a bit... someone's going to be disappointed comes a few months in my opinion...

It's like you're a rookie reporter desperate for his first scoop, but you keep publishing badly researched dross.

Anyway, if we do get this over the line I'll be mighty chuffed we have someone of his pedigree, and a little smug that we have disproven all of the Hodgson lovers who thought we could do no better, that there was no manager in the world that could do a better job than our aged former manager. 'Time will tell' I'm sure they will say.

Time will tell.

(Hopefully, in this case, time gets the chance to).

Has he signed yet?

I don’t think anyone has said he will play unproven kids, but he is known for progressing youngsters, which is what the Club want. Personally having watched a lot of the academy games, imo Hanamm is the only one, at the moment that is ready to be tried in the first team. Several others need another season. If you have a manager willing and able to coach them, which Favre is renowned for, what can we lose? Read what Ballotelli and Reuss have said about him

I think language barrier doesn't allow me to explain correctly what I mean.
I'm not saying he won't be improving our young players (I really hope he does!)
I'm not saying that he can't be the manager taking us to the next level (I really hope he does!)
what I'm saying is that I read already names of kids that have never even played in div. 2 that now will be in the 1st team (forgive me, you didn't write that for sure, but others have believe me...), free flowing attacking football now with this new manager.
Now, with no experience in the PL, with a team that need to be sorted out, do you really think (I'm not asking you, I talk in general) this guy comes in, takes a couple of kids and start playing attacking football?
If he's clever enough, and time will prove he is, until he can get the players he needs (and it could take time, we should know that already), he will do exactly what the previous manager did when he lost the Cabayes, the RLCs etc. without them being replaced, he will use a cautious approach, and will try to make us a team hard to break down. And we really should hope for that, because a different approach could take us to Europe or to the Championship, and we should know this already too (i.e. De Boer).
So, in my opinion, at least for some time, things won't be really different from before, that's why I said some people are going to be disappointed, not me for sure, but believe me some will be.
Surely the new manager will need some time to sort things out for his needs, but with an eye on keeping us up, and having a previous manager that in his 4 seasons got us at 44 49 43 44 points. He won't have an easy job doing better but some people already think he will easily have. I hope they're right.

My word why do most get so irritated with people’s posts at no point have I ever said I’m an ITK,

all I am doing is passing on what I get told.

No guarantee what I’m told is right or wrong.

If you really think I’m a fraud then just bypass my posts I really don’t get why some get so uptight.

Their are far more important things to get agitated about than someone posting info (right or wrong) on a fan’s forum.

At least we now have a Manager & can enjoy the summer.

Have a good day all.

Sounds like someone told you something, all you did was share it, then a load of the old farts got in a huff. Either way, you either supplied or confirmed good information. It's hardly like you do it with every transfer so I doubt you were trying to BS people.

Consider what the people you pissed off are like in real life, then realise how little their opinion is of value to you. Their reactions are generally predictably aggressive or passive aggressive if they are too scared to come out and give an honest opinion. Just shows how difficult they find it when their own sad little bubble is challenged.
