No desire to serve his fellow man. For him, it's all about power and who wields it. We will now enter a new cold war which will last until Putin is replaced. It will be economically painful for all and environmentally damaging. I'm surprised to say, that I agree with you for once.

I know you got my point, but for the benefit of those Russo-philes out there who argue that Ukraine was a corrupt, illusory state so why should we care... Medium sized nation with unpleasant, autocratic government seeking to masquerade as something better but having no ambitions beyond their border (Poland / Ukraine) being invaded by far more powerful and even worse autocratic neighbour (Germany / Russia) led by charismatic, nationalist, populist, nutter (Hitler / Putin) who harbours alarming ambitions to expand well beyond their current border in a campaign that could spiral into a very wide-ranging conflict. Should we worry?

Russian claims over genocidal behaviour is probably true and for 8 years completely ignored everywhere. Images of damaged villages in Southern Russia today fired on by the Ukraine side could be nazis out of control militias etc. It's not good enough for Putin and Lavrov to claim this as justification for what they are doing to Ukraine though.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Channel 4 last night rebroadcasted their documentary about Putin's early life and his rise to power. It showed him as a weak kid obsessed by the ideas of spies, joining the KGB and being totally indoctrinated by its culture, bored in Dresden, appalled at the destruction of the Berlin wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union. It went on to record his time as the fixer for the mobster mayor of Leningrad and his consequential appointment to Yeltzin's staff where he continued to fix things. His corruption was plain to see. Interviews with him didn't attempt to deny it. He staged plenty of events, the biggest leading to the war in Chechnya and him becoming Yeltzin's successor. Watch it. I am sure it's available on catch-up. I think you might change your mind over the likelihood of what is claimed above being true.

Labour MPs withdraw from anti-Nato statement after threat of suspension. Starmer's idea of a free society definitely isn't mine. If this little Hitler gets his way and RT is banned it will only be here in the UK you can watch it online from other platforms in English. It is a sign of the times here in the UK that 13 people could express mild anti-NATO feelings and be silenced. The things we accuse Russia of we are doing ourselves.

With US forces in West Germany there was a point to NATO and it was NATO that kept the peace, not the EU which was the remainers claim.
