Julian Speroni was signed by Iain Dowie from Dundee in 2004 ahead of Palace's Premier League season.
He began his career with Platense and moved to Scotland and Dundee in 2001, making 113 appearances over three seasons.
The Argentinian was a hit at Dens Park, but a couple of errors in the Premier League for Palace meant he was replaced by Gabor Kiraly between the posts. Speroni was unable to displace Kiraly but had his chance after the Hungarian left for Burnley.
Since then Speroni has proved himself to be one of the club's finest ever keepers, winning the Player of the Year award for three successive seasons in 2007/08, 2008/09 and 2009/10.
