Yep - I was meaning London and the south-east, specifically. I've mentioned it before on here plenty of times. Those that dispute it always end up with their tails between their legs. You have been warned

Are you disputing that London doesn't prop up the economy?

Ok then Kermy where does the bulk of the wealth of the UK come from?

The important thing for Scotland is to be free from us.

Economies bounce back may not be bad anyway.

Free from a union lasting over three hundred years for a union of forty odd.

Ok....I'm not seeing how Scotland is free but I do agree on self determination as a fair principle.

Oh dear, still hoping that Britain falls flat on its face so you can say I told you so.

apart from that the latest Polls show Scotland as a country doesnt want another referendum.

Furthermore the wee Krankie women is a self serving thunder cnut of the highest order, second only to the truffle pig that is Diane Abbot.

Thing is, I don't think it matters if the UK 'economically hits the skids' some issues transcend the notion of money, economy and wealth

The referendum wasn't about whether the UK was financially or economically better off in the EU - Because I think its a large unavoidable conclusion that it was (being a member of one, if not the, most powerful trading block in the world is good for business).

But its not about business, or wealth - it was about political issues and social issues of citizens of the UK, which they felt were not being addressed by Government and the EU.

If the UK takes an economic hit, and falls down the ladder of 'largest economies', but in doing so, removes the option of exploiting cheap foreign labour to keep wages down, then its the right decision for me.

People shouldn't be in a position where working does not provide a route out of poverty.

You mentioned "leeches" - I was merely informing you that the biggest 'leeches' per head subsidy wise, well, the Gold Medal winner of that competition is London and the South-East last time i looked.

How much money a region receives....from the actual region that produces it doesn't matter....Especially as it then goes on and tops up regions that don't earn as much.

The fact is that London and select English centres power t he main economy.

Surely a lot of that is do with areas such as a deregulated housing market and out of control rents, etc which is nothing to do with the EU but more to do with some of Thatcher's lovely ideas which are still in effect today.

And this 'keeping wages down' EU baloney. Been blown out of the water recently, hasn't it?

It will probably take a generation before we can reliably judge the merits or not of the decision. But i agree with you the reasonably narrow vote had little to do with economics.

As with most things I suspect it will end up better for some and worse for others.....hopefully the working classes will have a better shake of it and be less exploited.
