I think the two things I'm most proud of are

1) Recovering from a nervous breakdown and establishing myself in a career in the process of recovering, whilst also kicking a drug habit (all in the same few years).

2) Having sex with a fit Japanese woman.

3) Being my mums son.

The second one makes no real sense. The first one, makes sense and the third one is really about dealing with her death.

Always wanted to shag a fit Japanese woman.

With common sense.

Back in the 2011 census even the combined population of white British people only amounted to 44 percent of the population.

Take out the Scots and Welsh and N Irish and include all those who aren't white who call themselves exclusively English and it's extremely unlikely that its going to push that figure to over half of London.

So common sense really.....By the way, I care about the English culture not a person's skin colour, so I don't like your implication about me being choosy over who I regard as English.

Then you might want not to bemoan the lack of 'white british' or white english from an area as you did in your initial post and have gone on about every post since. Have you ever bemoanded the lack of 'black british' from an area? No? I wonder why.

Look I'm anti EU on the whole, but skin colour plays no role in any of this, so have a word with yourself and form an argument that people who basically agree with you can get behind. Jobs, housing, allegiance. None of these things are race related.

Still going on with your implications of racism.......even though I've already said it doesn't matter about skin colour....don't you read?

I used the white british point because the cenus is so biased against the English that it isn't even a bloody option to identify yourself as just English......So I made the white British point to explain that overall the the English population of London is a minority....Which to many people is actually a point!.....I even explained that I included those not white who would say they were English.....bloody Blimey.

Here...shall I repeat myself for you seeing as you seem to miss points due to your prejudges.

London is an English city which has a minority of English people in it....Sod white british or black british....It's an ENGLISH city....I don't care what colour they are.....You can be black and English or whatever colour and English.

Some people on here, it's like tunnel vision.

Less than 37% of Londoners are non English.

The rest are born in England, that makes them English.

This bollocks about our culture being eroded is just that, the whole culture of England, London in particular has been that it is a melting pot, our culture is defined by our relationships with foreign groups. That's what happens when you are a massive colonial power.

Nothing more British than a Muslim mayor or Mo Farah winning gold or chips with curry sauce! Oldest Chinese community outside of Asia is in Liverpool, that's what's English in my book!

London lost as an English city... What a crock of s***!

London is what it is mate. If the current number of foreign faces, imagined or real, gets your goat then that's for you. We don't have a time machine and what it comes down to is that I don't need to concentrate on race to make a point about our borders or what I feel is best for our country going forward. I'll stick to jobs, housing, allegiance to make the case. I'll leave you to your anger.

What a load of crap.

'The rest are born in England, that makes them English'.....really a total load of BS.

Sorry mate but you don't get to define what an individual feels what their identity is. You know...that's kind of what a census is....You get to put down your identity....not what your passport says.

Now if Mo feels he is English that's fine with me but don't give me that crap about diversity being what British is.....Firstly I was talking about the English in London and secondly you don't get to define what British is either.

Each British...or in the case of what I was talking about English person gets to define that for themselves not for anyone else.

Oh I'm angry alright.....jobs, housing, allegiance are my main annoyance but I'd hardly regard wishing an English city had ab English culture and majority as some kind of wishful thinking.

It's all down to policy.

It's funny how a lot of these people are British when it suits them but then brag about being a proud Afghani or whatever.

Who gives a damn what skin colour they are, if they aren't English then they are apart of the majority foreigner reality of London.

It can't be sold to me that the scale of what has happened in London is ok.....London is a beacon of what happens with uncontrolled immigration.

You talk about the white British percentages, as if its significant when the truth is that its going down all the time.

Like I said before, thanks to the uneasy coupling of the pro immigration left and right pro low wages wing of the Tory party London has been lost as an English city.

And if we remain in the EU the scale of the cultural disintegration problem is only going to continue to expand.

It just depresses me.

'British' to a lot of people means as it was before the war. Whether that is right or wrong, I've spoken to people who are grateful for the fact that it is more ethnically diverse. This is their own definition of what is less 'British' i.e. fewer British born people and to those largely white middle class people that is unquestioningly desirable. That is a notion that alone has about as much substance as that of being British itself.

You surely mean how they imagine it before the war, given that is a very small percentage of the UK population now.

Its an idea, that really is born out as true. Class division in the 30s was far more pronounced than it is now, and its an era of massive protests, the rise of Unions and socialism (also Liberalism was prevalent among the middle classes as the heyday of Liberalism was before WWII and the rise of the Labour movement).

I think here in lies the problem, the rosy tinted spectacles of the idea that there was a better Britain rather than a simply different one. Certainly the working classes of London, weren't in a better position before the war, than after it.

Brightishness, is defined by discourses around the idea of being British, negative and positive, that are conducted in the UK. Someone who is even completely anti-nationalist, is contributing to the national idea of what Britishness is, because its a collective idea formed from the social interactions of people in their experiences.

All ideas of Britishness form the basis of Britishness. The regrettable form of nationalism, is that which seeks to deny the contributions to the idea of national identity from those who don't conform to their own.
