That's linked to what I was saying. It's a cop out on their part for the decision they'd taken. Bit like people nowadays that prefix something they're about to say that's either offensive or hurtful with "not being funny, but" or ending with "only joking".

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

There is also the third group, those who thought that voting leave WAS a spoiling option.

I was astonished at how many people even just the morning after the vote were on TV expressing remorse about how they voted because they didn't think they'd win.

Well they were stupid for not voting for what they actually believed in then weren't they!

And they said the committed Brexiteers were clueless.

No matter what you say after the vote, history will record that a majority voted for Brexit in the UK.

Agreed. There were definitely people who considered voting out just as a protest vote. I myself was even one of them (I thought the EU a horrible corporatist organisation that was in desperate need of reform. I thought a low win for In would be a bloody nose that might stimulate the reform) but eventually decided that was a stupid thing to do.

And it would have been a stupid thing to do.

Anyone expressing remorse for their vote the next day is an idiot. Pure and simple.

A very small majority.

Of course, the majority of the population in the US actually didn't vote for the current president.

What disturbs me is how openly lies and outright deceit are just thrown about, both by Brexit and Remain, and Clinton and Trump.

Of course, the consequence of deceit by Remain and Clinton are much lower, because they lost so they don't have to actually deliver on their lies.

When your president, makes statements like 'no one realised how difficult health care would be' you know you've backed the wrong f**king horse. Not a bad horse that might beat the odds, but one that's already in a truck marked Bostick.

Especially given the difficulties the previous president actually had getting the Affordable Care Act passed in the first place, and how it consumed a lot of his eight years in office. I'm not even f**king American, and I know Health Care is a bloody minefield in US politics.

Ironically of course, a lot of people who actually voted Trump, are likely to end up losing their health coverage gained under the previous democratic president.

Because no way will the Republican's actually back his 'health care for everyone' from his election.

Problem of democracy, you vote for what you believe in, everyone else votes to f**k you with switchblades.

People who vote on the basis they won't win, probably shouldn't be allowed to vote, or go out by themselves. The very principle of voting for something you don't agree with, is about as close to mental illness as you can get.

The Germans....who have made slave states out of southern Europe.

The Germans who are by far the richest European state yet have spent only one percent of GDP on defence for decades.

The Germans, who have been living under the protection of the Americans...who most of them have despised for decades

The Germans who only ever had the chance of being the rich country they are because of the American funded Marshal Plan.

Who gives a mightly f**k what Germans think.

Not all of the BBC is terribly left wing but when it comes to Trump....wow...there is very little impartial analysis....If they could call him a 'f***ing idiot' they would....It's like Jamie's working there.

The BBC lost trust as an independent thinking institution a long time ago....It should have ensured that its staff were balanced between right and left sympathies....But it didn't and it's packed full of lefties.

They are currently engaged in some 'diversity' re-balancing boll*cks at the BBC.....Which is nice language for sacking white males...Apparently all diversity is welcome at the BBC....Unless it's diversity of thought.

It is coming to the point where people should start refusing to pay the licence fee, for similar reasons to those who refused to pay church tithes in the nineteenth century.
