"HOLS obsession with racism?" = shut up if *you* are concerned about things that *we* can possibly associate with racism (which these days can be pretty much everything - even climate change).

The fact is the biggest issues of our time have been suppressed by this very tactic/ideology. Mainly, the impact of globalism and mass migration and the threat of radical Islam.

People are genuinely worried about these but told they are not even allowed to be. This has led to a lot of pent up anger (what the left now like to describe as "hate" ) and in turn to a wish for open debate and change to address those issues (what the left describe as "populism" ) by the large number of people that do not have more than a marginalized voice in politics (what the left now like to call the "far right" ).

It's ironic how the left like to use racism as their answer to most of the worlds problems (which are not much more than perceived and generalized injustices like "racism" ) e.g. the Jews are behind crony capitalism and whites (or more specifically white men) are responsible for all the ill's of the world due to slavery and colonialism. Because somehow (and nobody can explain this one) they have been "institutionalized" . Basically if you are on the left it's only the in-groups that you like that don't have "immutable" traits like racism.

We live in the most free, most wealthy and most tolerant society that ever existed but our society and institutions are now so morally cowardly that we are on the verge of throwing it all away.

In summary we are all sick of being talked down to by people who should have learned from history so it's no wonder people feel the need to vent on football forums or anywhere else before free speech is so restricted they are unable to, and ultimately get a visit from the thought police. Mini rant over.

Sorry, I would have mentioned them but I was too busy obsessing about foreigners coming over here taking our jobs and women etc.

Disagree

There are many issues we face of which race and immigration is one of many, but always top of the agenda because it is emotive and used as a political football, it can buy votes. A far bigger issue, for example, is housing shortage but if you said you would build 10,000 houses in the area,it's not a vote winner and you could get more people against it. Probably why we have the problem in the first place. But tell people foreign people are coming and taking jobs, usual nonsense and you play on people's fears and prejudice. I think it's mainly built on perceptions and misconception as in most cases they don't affect people directly and it's usually stoked up by media outlets with ulterior motives. You would hope that enough people would have the maturity and diligence to rise above and have a more rational outlook on the subject but we are where we are

I think in the case of this forum people have rightly complained it is too much and we don't need it rammed down our throats 24/7, it's a football forum after all and shows the support in a negative light (imho)

Racism is mostly bulls***.

It is used as a weapon to sack people, intimidate people, ostracise them or shut them up in fear.

It's tired, dishonest, dim witted terminology that is mostly misused by the disingenuous or the dim witted to gain advantage.

It's a caricature...'the racist' = the bogey man....everybody is scared of being called a 'racist'....it makes it a perfect weapon.

Like being called a heretic in religious times.

I remember my grandad who fought in the war. He wasn't perfect in lots of ways but he was a good honest hard working man. A guy like that would be called 'a racist' by many of those today who use this term.....well feck them and the horse they ride in on.

People who shouted 'racism' enabled the rape of thousands of working class girls. Did they take any responsibility for that? Did that change anything? Na...a weapon is a weapon and people use what brings them advantage.

Europeans are called racists for having a preference for their own group compared to other groups. Yet statistics show that every other racial group has even higher same group preference than Europeans.

There is nothing wrong with having a preference. I prefer long legged girls compared to short legged girls....it's the same thing.....it doesn't mean I 'hate' short legged girls.

That's another thing....You get told crap that you 'hate' people.....what are these guys on? Seriously? They are total lying fruitcakes.

Racism = mostly Bulls***.

I would also like to point out that the tendency to shout racism at any mention of race has allowed black on black knife crime to flourish. Thus, killing the very people anti-racists want to help.

These are excuses and not reasons.

Genuine political debate when conducted with objectivity, respect and politeness is always welcome in a free society and long may it be so.

What isn't welcome is any associations which are made to race, colour, creed, gender or disability as contributing causes to any disagreements between people.

That's not to say that the disagreements cannot exist but we need to become blind to the above issues and look beyond them. This thread is about racism but exactly the same applies to the others.

Thus any reference to "Muslim rape gangs" is "racist" (probably more accurately religionist) because most Muslims are as appalled by rape as everyone else. Men are rapists. Religions don't rape people anymore than white or black skins do.

Evil preachers who choose to interpret religious texts and indoctrinate others need to be dealt with, whatever religion or sect they come from. You can condemn the crime without seeking to alienate a whole religion. You can steer people towards our values by showing them love and not replicating the hatred of the evil people within their ranks. Radical Islam IS a threat but eliminating it has to be done by cooperation with mainstream Islam and not by venting anger on football forums. All that does is confirm your bias and nothing else at all.

It is this kind of obsession that is referred to in this thread.

As someone of the middle right, who has always been a traditional Tory voter, this doesn't come from the left at all.
