I think Bruno suffered from the same thing as Nigel Benn, and possibly Joshua, in that they could all really punch and were fed a stream of willing victims then when they came up against an opponent who could hit back they didn’t know how to respond.

It isn't a requirement. AJ is a brand in his own right. Why not have a team of solicitors to take care of the legal aspects of the contracts and use a dedicated team of his own? Na, Hearn has been great for British boxing. He's a promoter, he doesn't decide Joshua's training or coaching. Joshua is one of the richest men in sport.....if that's being mismanaged then a hell of a lot of boxers would love that level of mismanagement. Let's put this into perspective. Hearne has the goose that lays the golden egg, regardless that he's made more than 9,10 or 11 other fighters. AJ got a career high 18m for last night. Fury got 14m for his last fight as an example. Selling out Wembley is great but we all know the big fights and big.money is Vegas and the American PPV. Canelo got $42m for his last fight, McGregor got $85m from his exhibition match with Mayweather and you think that AJ with his brand power, star quality, talent and looks is isn't being poorly managed just because he's made more money than someone else? He's the undisputed heavyweight champ ffs. Of he's incapable or unwilling to promote his own interests he should've signed with one of the big hitters like golden boy. He'd have been better stage managed and be worth at least double. He also wouldn't be getting in the ring completely unprepared to face a roly poly fairground puncher for relatively s*** money on terms he never signed up for. Hearn committed him to a contract and he had to fight. As soon as Ortiz dropped out the whole thing should've been cancelled. He's a s*** house snake oil salesman. Tickets (half unsold) still had the original matchup on them ffs, Hearn didn't even get a reprint.

Before the fight: AJ “this is gonna be a piece of cake”. Ruiz “somebody say cake?” Just goes to show you can be as fat as Neil Shipperly and be heavyweight champion of the world. Saw an interview where AJ said “if the journey ends now, I have a lot to look forward to” or something to that effect. If he retired soon I wouldn’t actually be surprised as I don’t think he gives a f*** anymore.
