Due to lockdown, for every 3 deaths from (recorded as) Covid, there are 2 other deaths.

Protect the NHS. Save lives.
Think others are evil for not agreeing with this s***.

This whole continuing episode just illustrates how full of lies and half truths the government and the forth estate are.

Other than the normies, who just live life with blinkers on, anyone else taking notice who wasn't already paranoid or a hypochondriac or named Karen....this Sars variant has been the most economically disterous over reaction in history.

Excepting those who were elderly or ill we only required sensible guidelines for 'most' people......Sweden's model has proven far more sensible.

Schools and teachers getting a whole lot of flak with Johnson even having the temerity to challenge our 'moral duty' regarding full September reopening. Reality is that any teacher worth their salt is extremely keen to return and very much wants the best for their pupils as well. Criticism surely has to be weighed at abject demonstration of 'moral duty' of both Government and elements of general public who continue to flout social distancing regulations given those packed out beaches and pubs with scant regard to the very real risks that they are placing themselves open to by way of contracting and spreading virus. No rigour demonstrated by Boris and his comedy Cabinet whatsoever either with every decision seemingly delegated to the electorate because the former is too afraid to take the lead.

Is this not a recipe for disaster that is being collectively stoked for Autumn / Winter second wave?

Interesting development - 'Two new studies, though from different parts of the world, have arrived at the same conclusion: that young children not only transmit SARS-CoV-2 efficiently, but may be major drivers of the pandemic as well': [Link]

Now if 'The Government is following the science'.....

Teachers are at risk of passing Covid on amongst each other. They’re. I different to the rest of society and especially key workers but the NEU and probably some teachers are using this as an anti tory government tool. You know what you need to do for the good of society and children. Have a good 6 week Summer holiday.

It's interesting how much conflicting research is out there. Studying the effects of a widespread virus should not be this hard. I wonder where misinformation is coming from? I could have a decent guess.
I'm not saying this research is wrong, just that I've heard conflicting reports. In fact, hear one thing one day, another the next. I have to say the WHO is not worth a f@ck in this instance.

Not all teachers are anti Tory and NEU has been horribly misrepresented in some part by Press when core concern is most definitely ONLY protecting the safety of both teachers and pupils. Oh and many teachers will be working through a sizeable chunk of their so-called 6 week holiday e.g. moving classrooms; changing displays; planning for new term etc. If you want to exercise your bile at public servants with obscenely long holidays then why not start with MPs?

Amen to that.

I've tried but failed, Sportyteacher, to make your "very real risks" bit go bold. I'm not very good at using computers.
I was then going to illustrate the infection to death rate of Covid 19.

I'm going to have to wear a mask because I need to use public transport when I eventually get back to work.
I try not to judge others but when I see people wearing one in the open air when there's nobody within a hundred metres of themselves, I sometimes can't help judging.
Funnily enough, while on public transport and seeing someone else not wearing one, I've found myself judging them too!
My mind has, no doubt, been interfered with!
However, when I see a small child wearing one, my heart literally sinks.
There's been no safety checks on prolonged use of these masks. Without a proper risk assessment, how do we know mask wearing won't increase your chances of testing positive?
So, as a father of a 3 year old, I'll go to prison before I let someone put a mask on her. Her mother, more than likely will be okay with it.
Yes, I'm not happy with the way the world has changed these past few months, in case you were wondering!
If that makes me "evil", Rudi Hedman, so be it.
I'm hoping enough parents will apply logic and say enough is enough when the authorities try to put a barrier to their child's ability to breath oxygen on their face.
If they don't I really fear for the future.

Before I go here are the figures...

Even if you're 100 years old, the chances of you dying after testing positive for covid 19 are 0.26%

And if you're under 70 years old that figure drops to 0.04%

"Lies, damn lies, and statistics"

A phrase from a former PM who manipulated unemployment figures to the extreme. (maggie)

It comes down to a risk of death, or long-term impairment, or delayed treatment of (for example) pre-diagnosed cancer.

it's a cvnt of a disease that can f vck you over for life.

Do not dismiss the outcomes because you don't know anyone infected in your circle of friends.
A lot of people who spread the disease do not even have symptoms

I saw my doctor friend today she pointed out that our local hospitals are full of people who are still suffering the effects of the virus.

Permanane damage has been done to them mainly their lungs and they may well die months after being infected or have a lifetime of continuing health issues.

I have much sympathy with this viewpoint. Although they have fallen of late due to lockdown, it is also worth bearing in mind levels of air pollution across London that have been previously excessively high therefore good luck with the belief that your child is just breathing in oxygen at the age of 3 as Govt endeavours to return us all back to normal way of working congested, smelly life again.
