As I said they struggle at the best of times but when your population trebles just for a short time then it produces a difficult situation that I doubt is mirrored in Horsham or too many other places in the UK. Maybe the Lake District is similar.

My point was some places struggle for more than just 2 months a year. Horsham has and still is building houses at an alarming rate, without any of the essential services being increased.

My friends, who live near Westbury, enjoy the perfect irony of having had their local hospital demolished and replaced with 56 new houses.

There is a site in Horsham, previously was a laboratory, which was ready made for a hospital. Good transport links, ready made car park. houses built on it ( no affordable ones).
Anyone who knows this area will have seen thousands ( literally) of houses built in Broadbridge Heath. Prior to building starting, residents were told a school would be built first.. nothing.
Local schools now overcrowded, as are GPS and dentists and still the building continues. Still spare a thought for the Cornish residents who suffer for 2 months a year

We suffer from the same kind of under resourcing issues all year round just as many other places do. It's a common problem.

Not everyone though suffers the almost unique problem of having their population treble for 2 months. On top of the same under resourcing that everyone seems to these days.

An excellent discussion on where we are between Andrew Neil and Jonathan Sumption.

Sumption has been called the cleverest man in Britain - and not without reason. His comments are always pertinent and considered. Andrew Neil is no slouch but he can not counter the intellectual and logical weight of the Sumption argument. What is needed is the recognition that these medical issues have always, and will always, be there. Do what you can, but eventually society has to move on.

Boris Gump has now said pubs “could” insist on proof of vaccination. Not good news for anyone not due to get theirs until the summer.

Boris Johnson asserted that it “may be up to the landlord” to decide whether to require proof of vaccination or a negative test from customers.

From this I have deduced that it might not be a requirement laid down by Government but individual establishments could decide to ask for proof and could bar entry to those who were unable to provide it.

I have had my first jab with the second scheduled for 14 May!

It’s an opportunity for the Government to not be the bad guys. They don’t need to insist on vaccination proof if they think businesses will.

Blimey....talk about wink wink.

If this crap starts happening this country will have completed its fall from principles I once thought were solid.....especially amongst conservatives.

That said, the conservatives have become a party that only cares about conserving house prices.....they gave up on actual conservatism with Cameron.

There isn’t even a document or anything that’s bonafide proof you’ve had the first jab. Well nothing that can’t be copied.

Just as weird is the Lib Demi’s are beginning to look Electable.
