You are, to my knowledge ENGLISH, i am not. I am a British Commenwealth Citizen. You have all the privileges that it entails. I grew up here(6yo) i went to school here, ive worked here had a family here, paid my taxes & NI here & also SERVED the country of my parents/g-parents birth & very proud to do so.

Now, re-Falklands, i got 'volunteered' in '82 to rejoin my old ship, i was RNR, HMS Sheffield, you may have heard what happened to her, i was on her. We all believed the nessasity to PROTECT our people from the invasion, politics was NOT our problem, getting rid of the Argies was.

Maybe you are too young & dont care, worst still, been fed media crap for most of your life. I actually feel sorry for ypu if thats the case.

Google Falklands & learn history, i WAS there.

Hope you were unscathed,! I worked for a while at Gatwick with a chap who was also on the Sheffield, I believe he sustained a relatively minor back injury. He moved to Immigration at Portsmouth as he had an issue dealing with any visitors from Argentina! And a big thank you from me

Sky are reporting that Rule Britannia and Land of Hope & Glory will now be sung at the Proms.

Thank you Spiderman, i can understand what he was feeling, also he was fairly lucky with his injury, thank god. I suffered a head injury due to shrapnel, eventually got flown to Selly Oak(B'ham) recuperated for 6 months, then let loose to the open world. No follow up, no help, no mental facilities, just get on with it, guess thats why i get a tad 'cranky' from time to time(sorry bout that).

Guess i was a bit ott with Ghosteagle, just didn't like his attitude with the Falklands. Anyhoo, #defundthebbc

That’d be fun but you have to suspect what he hopes for and glories in and who he’d like to rule Britannia are at odds with Proms viewers.

Another poor story from BBC News

[Link]

This American gentleman shares the same name as Edward Colston so queue BLM moan about his slave name.

However he admits that he doesn't know his family origins on where the name came from so it may have nothing to do with Bristols Edward Colston.

It seems to me that this wannabee playwright is just looking for free publicity and the BBC is allowing it, a complete non story. He doesn't even say he going to do anything like start a campaign etc.

On the subject of slave names Ali always said his was a slave name, Cassius Marcellus Clay Junior.

Well he got it from his father who was given it by his granddad, the name is a local politician who was a famous abolitionist and is considered by many to have persuaded Lincoln to sign the emancipation proclamation. In other words a great man who presumably the fighter's grandfather respected.

Still why let facts get in the way of a good BLM rant

There we are the BBC Conservative Party has returned to the fold after its contribution to the tory one-party state at the election.

And they could have had songs from the James McArthur Song-book and Glad All Over.

A cultural opportunity badly missed.
