Of course.

So long as no attempt to classify them all in that category, I am quite sure they would accept that the same proportion as the rest of society are likely to be flawed in some way.

Getting that accepted would be seen as a major breakthrough.

So when you said -

They aren't paedophiles, wife-swappers or exhibitionists. That anyone classifies them in the same way, is pretty obnoxious and demonstrates a much lower morality than anything a transgender is likely to do.

It was meaningless when they're just as likely to be those things as anyone else.

I use separate cubicles and would fiercely argue that they should always be available to everyone, whatever their sex. I like my privacy and understand why others do.

But why when no one notices anything anyway?

There we have it, in all its subjective, prejudiced glory.

Degeneracy is defined by the OED as "moral standards that have fallen to a level that is very low and unacceptable to most people."

To believe that those who discover that they have been born into the wrong body are degenerate is to demonstrate a complete misapplication of the term.

To believe that transgenders lack moral standards is to demonstrate total ignorance of them.

These people are not indulging in anti-moral behaviour. They aren't paedophiles, wife-swappers or exhibitionists. That anyone classifies them in the same way, is pretty obnoxious and demonstrates a much lower morality than anything a transgender is likely to do.

To then go on and make a remark about the need to protect the young and vulnerable, when everyone believes that to be necessary, including the transgender community, simply attempts to add a further smear.

Sometimes the level of irrational, unrealistic prejudice to be found in these pages surprises even me. I know some still hold to Victorian values, but these are back to almost the stone age in their thinking.

There are people who are confused and people with body dysphoria who need help....many of them because of the current culture.

There are those who promote that culture and they are being called out for the harm they have caused. No word manipulation can hide the harm that their ideology has caused both children and the vulnerable.... there are lawsuits ongoing and many to come.

I'll leave it to the imagination of others as to where the blame lies.

Pretty obviously because the inference was that they all are, just because they are transgender. Not because some might be because they are human beings.

This discussion has centred on male to female transgenderism and my remarks were in that context.

Female to male has not yet been mentioned, except by yourself and is something I am less informed on. My younger grandchild is not as far down the road and iI haven’t had the same conversations with them as I have with the older one. Indeed any conversations we have had have been with my wife, in confidence, and not with me.

The problems found at Tavistock are regarded as a steppingstone stone to better support. They aren’t defended.

I am not a clinician but I trust those that are understand the effects of every medication they prescribe. They are the experts. I am not so make no judgment.

As you have more direct experience of the impact of the attitudes of others on female to male transgenders what is your view on what facilities they should use?

Yes you have as you said you have a granddaughter who wants to be a grandson. You posted about her a while back !!!

Who said no one notices anything? I said most avoid chatter and eye contact.

I have a medical condition and prefer privacy.

We are all entitled to that. I often use the disabled cubicle if no other is available. Maybe we need to increase their availability and stop calling them disabled and refer to them as personal.

I

If you have read all my comments you will know that all my info comes either from my eldest or research, and not from the younger who is less down the road on the journey. All my remarks are about females born with male bodies.

I am though interested to know where people think it’s appropriate for men born with female bodies to change or use the toilets. They dress and behave as men. Do they use the female facilities?

Yes but saying some might be is different to saying "they arent".

They would never know. That's the point. It's happening every day, but no-one notices.

You described it as “supporting degeneracy”!

That’s not criticising the support. It’s describing transgenders as degenerates.

Anyone who “promotes” anything over which another has no control does them a disservice and would be condemned by the transgender community as much as by us all. I think it’s more likely you are confusing help and support for people who are often treated badly by others, with promotion.

Context matters.

If a transgender female walks into a ladies toilet, uses a cubicle, comes out, washes her hands, adjusts her makeup and walks out, no-one knows.

If you or I did the same they would.

If I used a public urinal I would feel uncomfortable. Forgive me if don’t explain why! So I always use a cubicle in male toilets.

In the sense that they aren’t as a group, which was the assertion.
