Why is it not just a trend.? Why is it disturbing ? Or rather why do you find it disturbing.?

I don’t believe any large group has a significant number of problematic members. I think there are sub groups who are problems and they aren’t always so easy to identify. I agree it’s about cultural attitudes and the way history is taught. If religion itself is playing a role, and not the way people are choosing to interpret the religion then that needs to be called out and the religious leaders spreading it ostracised.

I have never denied there is a population explosion. Indeed I have argued fiercely in other places that much more needs to be done to curtail it. The WHO is very active in this area. Europe birthrate declining whilst its population lives longer has been recognised as a problem for at least 50 years. It has little to do with wars killing our fathers. That might have had an impact for a while but not now. It’s culture and women’s emancipation. Them wanting careers and identities beyond being mothers and homemakers. The pill has enabled them to achieve that. Not caused it.

It isn’t going to change. The days of my childhood are long gone and are not coming back. If we need more people, as we do currently, then they will be born elsewhere. That being likely to be Asia or Africa is obvious. That’s where the people are.

What their religion is cannot be a factor. What matters is removing religion from being a defining function of anyone’s identity. That’s hard, but it is also essential.

You know my approach, so I won’t repeat it all but removing the role of religion from schools and public life and ensuring every child is taught our values and culture is vital. We have done it for many. Now we must for all.

Yep, the pill, feminism and the power shift to multinational corporations has been an utter disaster for Europe and the west generally.

Only the pill was unavoidable.

The obvious point is that we could have avoided all our problems with better decision making.
Taking an idealistic view is a recipe for disaster. Humanity always disappoints. It cannot change it's nature.
Division is part of the human condition. So is greed.

What we have done to this country is criminal, and to now say that we have to accept that and hope for the best is insulting.

The wars did see a major change in attitudes. Deaths in themselves reduced birth in the short term, and that had a knock on effect. Perhaps more importantly, there seems to have been a change in the early part of the 20th century and family sizes began to reduce. The pill accelerated that trend.

Regardless of the causes, the British people way of life has been sacrificed for short termism simply because of myopic self serving politicians.

Whether anything is better, or worse, is a subjective question.

Regarding another’s opinion as criminal is what is insulting and nonsensical.

Accepting reality and responding to its needs is 100% more productive than moaning about it in a forum.

Changes are a fact of life. Sometimes what is positive in one way brings challenges in another. That’s what we face. Not a disaster to just cry into your computer screen over. Challenges to be met and overcome.

Politicians haven’t engineered these changes. They are evolutionary and international. The British way of life has not and will not be sacrificed. It needs to be emphasised, protected and respect demanded. That requires effort.

I am doing my bit. Why aren’t you? Have you just given up?

but......why is fertility on the floor in Europe and not on the floor in Africa ?

cos many in Europe say 'i cannot afford to have a ton of kids, especially at an early age'....and yet nobody in Africa seems to arrive at the same conclusion ?
