US to provide another 0 million in military aid for Ukraine, including medium-range rocket systems.

Throwing more money away on a losing war, while its own population suffers.

Low quality elites.

Maybe they could waste it on guns and shoot themselves instead!

Ukraine/Zelenski is asking for more artillery pieces than exist in the entire US military and many more tanks than the UK and Germans have combined. That's fantasy land. The Ukrainians have zero chance of winning this war with Russia and the risk remains of escalation with other nations. All loss of life could have been avoided before this even started and I fear now the Russians have no motivation to stop moving east now that they have invested so many lives. The low end estimate of Ukrainian lives lost now is some 45,000 by the way.

By the way, this is already an unprecedented windfall for the military industrial complex who are already lining up to "modernise" (replace the old crap all the western nations have given Ukraine).

You can’t negotiate with Putin. Time will tell who will win. Only make bold statements when the game is over. Crystanbul

I've seen a Russian military summary that thinks it's over 100,000 Ukrainian dead now.

There is no way of knowing, but they are certainly taking a lot of ground and pows at the moment.

I don't agree with that.

There was a genuine chance of an agreement in March as press releases stated agreements had been reached in specific areas....Zelensky asked to negotiate with Putin himself.

However, now it looks like both have settled for battlefield results due to the western desire to prolong the war to the last conscripted Ukrainian.

Hold that thought....it may happen sooner than you think.

We’ll there you go. It’s not up to the west to dictate Ukr terms, even the French, Italians and Germans understand this now. Putin takes no notice of law and is a bully and hence Ukr need weapons and to be in a position of strength.

Putin only starts wars to increase his popularity back home when he struggles in the polls.

Need to reform gun laws. Good that Miami police are having an amnesty of fire arms to donate to Ukr

Will be back when the tide turns in Ukr.

If the Ukraine was involved in this war alone I'd agree with that.

I don't think that's the reality of what happens in life once money and investment is involved.

'He who pays the piper calls the tune' is an ancient idiom because it is true and you are seeing its iteration here.

I don't agree with the idea that Putin can't be negotiated with, I think that's propaganda from our side because they want the war to continue.

I've been following the war.....personally I don't think the Ukraine have enough experienced troops to push back the Russians now....they have lost much of their best troops....Personally I think you would need to commit western armies to defeat the Russians.

Indeed, if Putin was not willing to negotiate then how did the Minsk agreements come about. Who was responsible for breaking these? (especially the last one)

Putin takes no notice of rules and won’t negotiate until forced to, when Ukr has near parity in heavy weapons or the upperhand. It’s nothing to do with what the west want. It’s Ukraine who asks for aid and artillery - to fight for their survival

I think we are just repeating ourselves.

Fair enough if that is your considered opinion. We will agree to disagree.

I think we have doubled down on a bad hand personally.
